JOHN COLTRANE x MILES DAVIS – SO WHAT

milestrane

Watching this clip is like seeing a reel of a vintage negro league game featuring WILLIE MAYS and HENRY AARON. The two masters put it down this evening.

Put it in the atmosphere if you got some. My boy hooked me up with a few bottles of that “Epiphany” a/k/a the piffy piff so I am about to turn out the lights on this side.

See ya’ when I see ya’.

Thank you for reminding me to listen to my Trane records.

I had no idea that ‘Tranes b-day passed recently.

    Good looks on the history.

I played a little trumpet when I was younger and I was introduced to Giant Steps in my freshman year.

His music and the music of cats like Miles, Monk, and Adderly changed how I see black music

Nice job on the Coltrane posts. Truly a giant…..

    Dear John, Dear Coltrane

So What is a classic. I been peepin your Coltrane posts on the low. I’m more of an “A Love Supreme” kind of guy, but that Giant Steps LP is the truth as well.

^KCR streamed about 10 different outtakes of ‘A Love Supreme’ throughout the day along with ‘My Favorite Things’ and my personal fave, ‘Greensleeves’. Suffice to say, Saturday was the truth.
