Hayden Pannittiere aka Coach Yost’s Daughter from “Remember the Titans” is who the cheerleader from “Heroes” is. I agree that Carrey would have been a great Joker but with him already cast as the Riddler I really wouldn’t like to see a double dip of him in the Batman franchise. I think Christian Bale rocked it in “Batman Begins” (easily the best installment of the franchise) he had that “dark quality” that was missing from the earlier amusement park-ish first 3 flicks. For the Joker I can’t figure one now but it needs to be someone truly psychomaniacal and please I hope they don’t do something stupid and put Dane Cook’s no talent ass…
In retrospect, Carey didn’t do the Riddler role justice, but at the time, it seemed like the ideal move. After all, It wasn’t anybody they used to play Batman that was carrying the franchise, it was the villains, hence why they got Arnold to play Iceman. They were being used as the box office draws, and at the time I think Carey got like 20 mil (his first role to get that price) for his portrayal.
That being said, he’s waaaaaaaaayyyy better as The Joker. They can either get him, or do what the Spider-Man people have done and get no-names to play villains and not let stars dominate the story. I mean William Da Foe is a legend, but I only think that’s on Broadway.
Jim Carey would definitely be good for the Joker. I felt Jack Nicholson did his thing as a villian. But I don’t know what Heath Ledger can do with that role.
I think his portrayal of the Riddler was an over-the-top shlop that the director wanted.
Yeah Jim Carey could do it…Heath Ledger? Sorry he’s stained with Brokeback. I could see Paul Bettany. He was the imaginary roommate in A Beautiful Mind.
Joaquin Phoneix as the Joker. I Like the Kats on the come up though… fresh talent & new faces to eliminate that commercial feel. I couldn’t get into Batman begins, I dig Bale and the dark feel of the movie but dat about it.
The dude from Memento. Guy Pearce. I think at this point a big celebrity playing the Joker is like a big celebrity playing a retard (see I am Sam). We’d be too aware of the guy in the purple suit. Jack Nicholson rocked the shout out of it, but that creepy make up helped.
Jim Carrey should definitely play the older, darker Joker and Bruce Willis should play the aged Bruce Wayne. As far as the new female Robin goes? I’m in favor of Kirsten Prout (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0698977/) or Kristen Stewart (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0829576/) or some other actress with more of a physical/action movie background and previous hand to hand training. If they want to just put asses in the seats, they studio’ll push for Hayden Panettiere, though. Good one, Dallas.
Here’s the thing about Jim Carrey… He kills the darkside shit and when you peep Miller’s TDKR graphic novel you see that Joker is the fuckin’ ultimate villain of all time. Joker is just a malevolent baddass. Word To Lex Luthor.
^ Huey P. Langston, co-sign. Carrey is over the top, where Riddler is a slick crafty mofo. Arnold ruined Mr.Freeze. Where the eff was Patrick Stewart on that one.
^ 40, Batman Begins returned the franchise’s credibility but the action scenes were all blurry and ridiculous. The fight scene on the train was useless.
^ Dart, looking at Kristen Stewart in ‘Panic Room’ might be the perfect cast for the Carrie kelley character.
We need to get on our grizzly and make sure that GhostFace is on the ‘Iron Man’ soundtrack. Something is telling me that shit is gonne be more fire than we expect.
Heath Ledger shouldna gotten that part. He’s never done no over the top shit acting wise. Even his ‘brave’ choice in playing a homo in Brokeback provided only a low key performance. Maybe Christopher Nolan can get it out of him, but i’m significantly lowering my expectations for that joint.
How bout
Ben Affleck as the Joker.
Lindsey Lohan as Harley Quinn.
Steve Martin as Commisioner Gordon
And a CG Alfred
Having read this I believed it was extremely informative. I appreciate you spending some time and effort to put this short article together. I once again find myself spending way too much time both reading and commenting. But so what, it was still worth it!

jim carey would be the truth but who would play the female robin?
Dakota Fanning?
No, that cheerleader chick from ‘Heroes’ could do it.
Bruce Willis could be Bruce Wayne. This was the part he was born to play.
Agreed. I always thought the riddler role was a bit forced and you’re right, I think there is enough of a dark side there to make it interesting.
The guy playing the Joker should have a long thin egghead….ex: James Woods… Don’t shoot for a big star to mess it up like Nicholson…
I was NOT feeling the Riddler by Carrey… he is WAY too overrated, and no that funny.
Female Robin has to be a hottie…I agree with using that chick from Heroes who can’t die…
The chick from Heroes would be good.
Jim Carey would have been a better Joker than he was a Riddler.

Wait did you ever see Dead End . . . Batman vs. Predator vs. Alien?
It’s short but better than a couple of the Hollywood offerings.

shout = shit
‘Heem – Joaquin Phoenix. I like the potential in that one…
jim carey – Joker
after unbreakable…bruce willis – Batman
the kid from the apple vs. pc commercials – Robin

One.
Jim Carey = Done! Great thought about Guy Pierce. Heath Ledger of “Brokeback” fame (no Brokeback) will be playing the Joker in the next Batman.

Gimme Alan Alda as the very, very old Joker, then.

Dunno why they gave it to Heath Ledger…but I agree Jim Carey shoulda had this role..
