Kendrick Lamar Has The Recipe…

I finally listened to a Kendrick Lamar song today. Yep, my first Kendrick Lamar listen and I found homeboy to be quite nice. I couldn’t tell the difference between he or Dr.Dre but to be honest they both sounded slick. This track is called ‘The Recipe’.

Kendrick Lamar featuring Dr.Dre – ‘The Recipe’

I got these Kendrick Lamar YouTube links from Hip-Hop Is Read and Know The Ledge. Now I’m wearing a Kendrick Lamar late pass while I listen his Section 80 album. Damn, this boy good…

  2. LEX says:

Took me a while to get hip to this cat too, but check for a joint called His Pain by BJ the Chicago Kid ft. Kendrick Lamar. Serious shit.

  3. Wardell Franklin says:

Sorry DP– that “Recipe” beat is vile (and I don’t want to Dre– real or simulacra– ghost-rap ANYTHING) though Kendrick himself isn’t uninteresting.

Have you checked out new almost De La on Duck Down yet? Sounds REAL nice on first listen.

  4. im such a Kendrick stan these days. All I’ve been listening to is Section.80 – and when i need something a little less rappity-rap, i take a frank ocena break.

Son be spitting that 110% truth that “they” don’t want you to hear… but the streets? hungry.

  5. BIGNAT says:

  8. Cole says:

Listen to Overly Dedicated before Section.80. Actually listen to the Kendrick Lamar EP first. That’s Kendrick in his true form.

  9. DirtyJerz says:

Kendrick Lamar, Maffew Ragazino, Danny Brown, Action Bronson, Dopp, Big Krit, Timeless Truth…..etc.

Yesterday, I turned 46. 46 years old! and I’m tired of old mowf negroes talking about how rap is dead. Jus cuz yo’ favorite rapper fell the fux off, doesn’t mean rap is dead. The torch is passed. Hate it or love it, today’s hip hop is the shit that we dreamed of in the 80’s come true.

    There’s no Mr. Magic
    There’s no Yo! MTV Raps
    There’s no Video Music Box
    There’s no Hot 97
    There’s no Soul Train

They did their diligence, followed Industry Rule #4080 and put their music on the Internets and let the people decide. How the fux does Based God pack a NYC venue, and tv or radio or DefJam or the Source not know about it?

  10. Le0 says:

Same boat, but ‘The Recipe’ won me over. That track with him and the Game is fire too.

  11. Smear says:

you that late!? Ah well… its nice too see the product match the internets hype for once… Section80 and OD were tuff.

That Look out for Detox joint is crazy to this day, and HiiPower, RR era, Spiteful Chant are incredible

  12. TED says:

benhameen played hiipower every week for about 3 months.
i’m waiting for him to do a hiipowered album which doesn’t have any surprise gut shots of stomach churning cheeseball singing crowbarred in there to try and entice the emo-friendly kids (no sandusky).

  13. gagmehoe says:

LOL @ FATFUCK DP; YOU NEW YORK IGNORANT ASS NICCA; IM FROM THE WEST, BUT I KNOW MORE THAN YOU COAST FUCKIN GAG DEEP SUCKA!!

  14. BIGNAT says:

gagmehoe you should know kendrick if you come form the west. he reps the west side you asshole

  15. Kendrick been killing shit. I bought Section 80 the day it came out just off the strength of HiiiPower. Dude hasn’t disappointed the god since.

  16. Loki says:

the reason you can’t tell the difference between Dre and Kendrick is that Dre’s part was probably written by Kendrick, and Dre used Kendricks flow to the T

  17. gagmehoe says:

    BIGNAT THESE NUTS HOE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. Mark Dub says:

Yeah DP. Check out the WHOLE Section 80. Ken Lamar is sumthin serious.

  19. fosterakahunter says:

I was recently introduced to this cat, as well. I think Big Ghostfase mentioned him, or something. He’s not bad, but I find a hard time getting excited about any of the new crop of rappers.

  20. DrossfromKenosha says:

dre rapping exactly like freddie gibbs in this shit lmao.. and in a video dre says straight up “kendrick wrote the words”

  21. gstatty says:

I slept on Action Bronson the same way, and now I’m up on his Blue Chips album with Party Supplies and that shit is thumpin. One of my fav tracks off section.80 is Ronald Reagan area and I kinda played out Tammy’s song . I’m down with Rigamortis, the spiteful chant and blow my high too. Dude is bringing the West back.

  22. Glad you finally got bro a shot.
