I don’t understand the Prali donation request. Let me get this straight. You want donations to do something that most of us would give our left nut to do for free. Your new member to the crew is Just Blaze, your interviewing Premo, and other illumanati and having a great time doing so and you want donations B, are u for real Dallas. I love your show and the blog, but you know you guys are about to blow and get all kinds of bread. Before that happens take my advice and dead the Prali link. It’s corny, your living a lot of our dreams and like I said I would do he show and the blog for free.

  6. the_dallas says:

    Jbeats,
I asked people to put $1 into the prA’li fund and list the donation as the Combat Jack Show so that I knew they were supporters of the show, not my blog. I imagined that $1 wouldn’t be something that the people whom I hope I am talking to wouldn’t have a problem with. I imagine I’m talking to people like myself who do elevated shit and support NPR and PBS and those types things. I may not be talking to those people however which makes me reconsider my efforts.

You said in your comment that you would blog for free. Did you really mean this or is that some of that keyboard machismo where people say they will do something but they aren’t really built like that. I’ve blogged at DallasPenn.com for eight years for free. If you really, really know the website you know that I don’t do ads where you have to click away from the content here. I’d love to know that you are a friend of mine who is true to his commentspeak and I’d love for you to blog for DP.com on whatever you wish.

I did it for eight years without $1 from you as confirmation of your support and this might have even been your first comment overall so what do you say for blogging for DP.com?

  7. Gimme Some Crabmeats & says:

@ J Beats– while I only wish DP the best and think he should be as well known and paid as Chris Rock, Tracy Morgan– whomever– do you know how many times the Kid has been ‘close’ and turned back? And what makes you think there’s ANY money in the Combat Jack show? I haven’t the slightest knowledge of how that station runs but I’m pretty sure it’s operation is somewhere between ‘bum ass’ and ‘low budget.’

While I have the utmost respect for Primo the producer– along with an honest WTF? smile for all his unfulfilled promises as record label non-operator– who else is he going to talk to in 2012? Rolling Stone? 60 Minutes? He’s a legend in a ghetto culture– by which I mean hip-hop’s place in the long continuum of both transformative American and black American artistic achievement.

I hope I’m wrong and DP, CJ et al DO get the loot but honestly, I don’t know how you think that’s going to happen.

The last Public Enemy album was probably their best since Def Jam and I don’t see anyone laying bread on Chuck D. or even talking to him much.

2/3rd of De La have an excellent new album out (I hope dudes get on the radio show) and how much have you read about that? Think they’re on vacation in St. Kitt’s with Duck Down money?

  8. J Beats says:

First off let me clear something up from the get go, maybe my last comment was a little harsh but it was not meant to be (should be construed as constructive criticism). I am a long time fan of the site, the content and The Combat Jack Show (I have heard every single show). What spawned my original comment was the show where combat was talking about the prali link. I was listening and started to think about how much I love the show, the cast and the content and how i would kill to be in your position. You may not be getting money now but my dude Just Blaze just pulled up with the space ship, you are about to board the mothership my dude. Everyone knows the show is on the verge of blowing (II). I guess listening to combat talk about the prali link made me think and just sort of irked me a bit. I guess we just feel differently about the link. By the way I only wish you the best myself, your a funny muhfuckah and i love the site, if you wanted me to blog for the site it would be an honor. I’m ready for my first assignment!

  9. J Beats says:

Another piece of constructive criticism. Now that you guys are about to get mad bread, try as hard as possible to not fuck up the organic feel of the show. It could be a completely different animal if it becomes too over produced. I love that sometimes the Ricans steel the mixer, sometimes the mics are fucked up, the room is hot as shit (soon u guys will have air conditioning with your Sirius deal)etc. What’s really crazy about the cast is that you guys are all industry cats but the feel of the show is that you guys are just regular dudes and I love that. I never meant to come off in a negative manner and I respect all the hard work you put into the show and the site. Keep up the hard work.

  10. SIC says:

I love this show… Please dont change shit!!

  11. the_dallas says:

    JBeats,
I’m glad you like the site and enjoy the CJShow. I wanted to see exactly how real the love for the show was and frankly its not that real. I sent an email to the address you put in the comment form. Write a blog drop on whatever you like. Let’s start with one a week.

The prA’lì link will prA’lì stay on the sidebar until the death of this site. Because its not corny to me. Its how I can tell when people are keeping it real with me.

  12. Pra’Li… i mean it! Dont ever change shit about the show or your blog!!

  13. J Beats says:

Yo DP hit me at the new email i provided with this post.

  14. khal says:

all im saying is, keep the pauses in the show. dont let niggas stifle the creative process.

  15. Combat Jack says:

I love this shit right here. Niggas going back and forth about the semantics of it all. Please understand, I’m in this to have the best fun possible, and right now, this is the best fun I’m having EVER. That being said, niggas having this much will yield paper. DP is like my brother, eff that, he IS my brother. Being that’s the case, we don’t always see eye to eye but I support whatever direction he takes.Go head and put a dollar in that man’s prA’lì link. As of this moment, EFF a SIRIUS check. I’m committed to putting paper in my team’s pocket without a radio deal. Mark my words.

  16. Hankybobspanky says:

Is there a way to download the show? Soundcloud continually baffles the bejesus out of me with what I can and can’t download what with their download limits and whatnot. I wanna listen, but I don’t want to be tethered to my pc while doing so.

  17. DirtyJerz says:

I’m not sure if a SiriusXM check would suffice for the team. And you know how they try control content AND the music you play. Dallas would leave after 3 shows! LOL
Sounds like the Combat Jack Show feat. Dallas Penn just needs an its own sales team.

  18. TED says:

“Okay, uh, look, if you want to just keep on doing the same old thing, then maybe this idea is not for you. I, for one, am not going to compromise my artistic integrity. And I’ll tell you something else, this is the show and we’re not going to change it.”

  19. T-Bag aka J-beats says:

Yo Dp peep your email I just sent you 2 ideas for the posts. By the way I hope the show doesn’t change I just think once the bread is thrown at you cats it will be impossible. An example is someone like Nas for instance. Illmatc is a classic and that album is the reason why everyone loves Nas, once he changed his style and formula nobody who really likes real rap music wants to fuck with him. I hate when people say you have to evolve and grow and progress as an artist. That is some bull shit. I think it is true to an extent but me personally I want to keep fucking with someone who continues to do the same shit I fell in love with them for from the beginning. Can you draw the parallel? I am a fan of the show hard body and am only giving you guys constructive criticism that all these other people who are blowing smoke up your ass are afraid to do.

  20. T-Bag Aka J Beats says:

By the way I have spoken my piece on the CJ show. I will not speak anymore on it. If you value my opinion as a fan cool if you don’t cool, I’m listening regardless. Peace

  21. Msidious says:
