Shouts to the DP Dot Commenter ALEX who put us up on the song that Daft Punk sampled/covered/stole to frame their dance classic ‘Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger’. Turns out the song ‘Cola Bottle Baby’ by 70’s funkateer EDWIN BIRDSONG is a dance classic in it’s own right so the Daft Punk kids couldn’t miss. I wonder if they had any problems clearing the rights to basically steal someone’s song outright or did they get taxed like rappers do when they pay for samples?
If KanYE’s hit song ‘Stronger’ brings a check to BIRDSONG then I suppose everything is everything in the game.
