Yeah KRS-One has never fallen off. Just got smart & got out when he knew his time was done. As one door closes, another opens & in steps Joell Ortiz. My pick for the guy that will bring, not only Brooklyn rap, but NY hip-hop back to where it needs to be. Between him & PMD’s choice, Mickey Factz, rap should be getting interesting again very soon.

“I ain’t tryna bring New York back/ just a breath of fresh air, that good ole New York rap” (c) Joell Ortiz

so who’s gon blow… joell, saigon, or pap… personally my money’s on saigon, looks like dude might actually be dropping some time this century, as opposed to, hmm, any artist on Aftermath (and papoose’s geico ass tryin to get on with that Jeanie Ortega single, smh)

My top 10 based on hip hop era:

    1. Grand Master Caz (when I used to cop battle tapes, before the whole industry thing. Cold Crush was on my first ever hip hop cassette tape).

    2. Melle Mel. Dude was a beast on mixtapes, now a fucking pain in the ass. [||]. Grand Master Flash and the Furious Five were on my second hip hop cassette tape ever.

    3. Run of RUN-DMC. Laugh now, but tell me dude was not an emcee during his day.

    4. Rakim.

    5. Big Daddy Kane (would have loved to see Kane and Rakim battle).

    6. Chuck D.

    7. KRS-1

    8. Ice Cube

    9. Notorious B.I.G.

    10. Jay-Z ( I still get flack for this one, but hey, nobody rep BK like dude).
