Hard Roc Rap…

roc marc

I slept hard on Roc Marciano. Robbie over at UnKut asked me a while ago if I knew dude since we live so damn close to one another, but I didn’t know who dude was. This dude is just plain niiiiice.

The rap narrative was a lost art with today’s emcees. Sing song rappers can make a narrative track, but when is the last time I heard a dude spit lava and paint a real picture of the ‘hood?

I deserve the ultimate late pass because Roc Marce is killing shit. The only way I can pay this dude back is by making sure I copp his joint the minute it drops.

Damn D.P. you late as fuck!!!!!!! I’m disappointed in you, you usually up on shit too. From one Lo-Head to another, you’re not even a few weeks or months late, you’re fucking years late bruh. Roc Marciano been the shit for years whether he was rocking dolo, was briefly a part of Flipmode ( peep that Heist joint with Roc Marci, Busta, Rae & Ghost, some real ill shit produced by Large Professor) or with his group the UN ( not that Cam’ron shit, his group is the original UN ) Shame on you D.P.
Get a late pass stankin’ ass

  5. hahahahahah funny story. I got a few duffle bags full of tapes from back in the day, dating back to like 88′-89′ and up. Anyways, I had this 1 tape from I think 96 or 97 and had this DOPE as track on there that NO ONE knew who the fuck it was….I’m talking I asked Dart Adams about it like 2 yrs ago on his blog, he ain’t know(which was amazing) I asked Robbie(Unkut) on his blog as well a loooong time ago and he didn’t know. I had the track on a dusty tape and you know how it be when you on a mission, like a 10 yr. mission to find out who was the artist and how I could track down a better version of the song…..well I stumbled upon the Philaflava’s forum and hit paydirt-FYI any song u looking for from any artist, even if you don’t think said track existed is on those forums(Thank me later, lolz). Anyway they were in the same predicament as I was…….not knowing who the artist was, but thinking it was a Roc Marcy demo. DIG THIS there were 2 other mixes of the song on this thread. NO ONE had the version I had……I presented it to the board and niggas went nuts…….even eq’d the version from my tape to better quality. Someone had asked Roc about it and confirmed it was him. A rare record from like 96 or 97…..Anyways I was just happy to have come full circle in finding out who it was AND getting a better version. Anyways here is the SONG : Bong!

also that early U.N/Pete Rock shit was nuts, I feel like HipHop definitely hit it’s lyrical peak between 95′-99′

your journey sounds like an episode of Married with Children…when Al was searching for that song..

    “go with him”…………

there are 5 original tapes that I had and wished I never lost

    5. the infamous angie martinez interview with tupac……at the height of the bullshit-mad funny

    4. funk flex interview with rae and ghost talking about the “shark biters” skit…..mad funny..

    3. early dmx funk flex interview—“what ? I can’t curse on the radio? FUCK THAT!!!”

2.Biz debuting “just a friend” on red alert and the jungle brothers in the house

    1. awesome two tape when they debuted “all that I got is you” by ghost….I swear I was one of the first 300 people to hear that song..

radio shack had cheap 2 hour tapes back then so..you didn’t have to stay up to catch stuff.
