Last night’s ALCS game was a passing of the torch for the 2011 Yankees. Andy Pettite will be retired and Cliff Lee will be throwing his cutter for the boys in the Bronx. Texas can’t up with what the Yanks will offer Lee for his services, even with a lucrative television deal in place.
Baseball is going to have to tweak their product again. Home runs, inter-league play, wildcard series for the playoffs are all good features but the game is still being outpaced by football and basketball as a viewing pastime. It’s time to do something pretty drastic. I’m thinking that baseball games need to be shortened to six innings. Like when we were in Little League.
MLB already has 162 regular season games, a spring training and a post-season that doesn’t end until Thanksgiving. And what do they do with all of this time? They suck. Trust me, I love baseball more than I prA’li should and I never leave baseball games until the final out (unless I have my nephew with me and he can’t sit still).
Either that or baseball is gonna have to allow players to hit each other with baseball bats. But that would just be crazy right?
As someone from Baltimore…yeah. The Ravens can sell out the stadium for the year on the day ticket sales start. The Orioles…not so much. More people watched the Titans rape the Jaguars monday night then those that watched some of these post season games.
plus degree:
fUx the Seattle Mariners…hatin’ ass beeatches…we would be up 3-0 right now…
Not so fast my friend, as a Dallasite I must say that there’s some money down here too and if Nolan Ryan has to start passing a collection plate around Highland Park will put some money in the pot to see a winner
Yo, I hear everybody saying the same thing. Lee will be on the Yanks next year. I hope he’s not for one. Keep the league kind of balance.
Yankees = Sith.
