The Greatest Yankee Of All Time…

Derek Jeter is a greater Yankee than Yogi, Mickey and Joe D. Jeter is even greater than Babe Ruth, who wasn’t a Yankee for his entire career. Derek Jeter has amassed his marvelous record playing all of his major league games in the world’s greatest city for the games most notorious owners.

I don’t fux with the Yankees like that but I will give props when due and Derek Jeter is the greatest player to rock the pinstripes of that storied franchise. Take a look at the other players to reach that rareified air Jeter exists in.

Jeter is in the Top Ten Greatest Yankees ever. I don’t know if he will surpass Joe DiMaggio or Mickey Mantle. Joe only played 13/14 seasons and was apart of 9 WS Champions. That’s incredible, only other dude with rings like that is Boston Celtic great Bill Russell

    Slayer,
I would place Gehrig at a close second to Jeter, and Joe D’s chips are a function of ALL the talent that those Yankee teams had as well as his greatness.

For me you have to consider the length [ll] of Jeter’s career and the consistency that he has held up thru out that run. Plus, no one has been hit by 90mph fastballs as much as Jeter (over 450 times)

    jaislayer…..berra won 10 world chips.

dallas….all of these players are a function of talented yankees teams. jeter included.

    illill,
Ruth, Gehrig and Dimaggio are all greats but they played in an era where many of the best players in the game weren’t even allowed to be on the field. I’m sure they would still have been good players but you never know.

Berra was a great catcher. Jeter is a complete player.

Mantle was as complete as they come bur he broke down due to the pressure of playing in NYC and his alcoholism. Jeter has outlasted teammates, managers, owners and even avoided the temptation of steroids which all the other great players in this modern era succumbed to.

Most of all, Jeter is a class act. He sticks up for his douchebag teammates and demands respect from the ownership. In a game filled with so few Black men Derek Jeter has acceled as the leader of AmeriKKKa’s greatest sports franchise. If you were a Black man you might could appreciate this.

Then again, you could be a Black dude who tells me that segregation Gehrig was the greatest Yankee.
