New Hampshire Bootmaker Timberland to be Sold for $2B
I’ve obviously been making the wrong decision for the past twenty five years by buying Timberland boots and socks instead of investing in Timberland bonds and stocks.
VF Corporation owns Nautica, The North Face, Jansport, Eastpak, Wrangler, 7 For All Mankind and a shitload of other second-tier brands. I hope that Timberland doesn’t lose the innovative spark with this acquisition. Their legacy line of footwear will forever be synonymous with cutting edge quality, but I worry about their newer hybrid lines.
The Mountain Athletics division from Timberland is totally slept on. This is where they develop all those lightweight quick response day hikers like the Cadion boots. I pulled a pair out of my archives and not a minute too soon. The rubber was starting to turn yellow from the improper storage. These are the 30152 deck shoes. They are like a hybrid aqua sock meets boat shoe.
You will rarely find me suggesting that you wear a shoe without socks, even a deck shoe, but these Mountain Athletics division Timberlands are so comfortable on the insole it would be a crime to not go barefoot in these. The outsole has flex grooves so that the shoe bends with your foot naturally and a non-skid outsole to help you keep your grip even on a wet surface.
Timberland isn’t just for the wintertime anymore.
Timberland is for every season and every reason.
2 billion wooooooooooooooooooooooooo
why wear socks you’re just going to wear ’em out anyway. i have on camo cargo shorts and beef & broc tims NO SOCKS even now, that’s why the ladies love me
Denmark, your feets stink!
I just got a Timberland shirt at Macy’s for Ten dollars that was marked at $27 but was in the wrong section and was the last one so the lady gave me the hook up. They always put so much innovative craftsmanship in their products. It’s a Summit Polo with something called Turbo Dry tech.
“I hope that Timberland doesn’t lose the innovative spark with this acquisition”
this was the second thing on my mind when i heard the news. the first was quality/craftsmanship falling off a cliff. will they try to game us w/ cardboard leather and felt suede? should we start stockpiling?
YO DP DENMARK GOT SWAMP FOOT!!!!!!!!!!!! i’m with coctaso dp make the list of must haves and just because like the joints featured today. got to stock up while the quality is still around.
Timberland been falling off in the leather dept. The leather my boots from the 1980s were made with is invincible, except for those Italian made joints they gave me (best boots EVAR).
The design innovation is where big corps cut the budgets. They will churn out the legacy classics but they won’t spend the dollars for that futuristic shit. Please stop sleeping on the Cadion hikers.
