No Bang From C4, Just Some Pop…

c4

I have to admit that I never understood the fascination most rap fans seem to have with Lil’ Wayne. Yeah, he was what’s next back in 2006 but that seems like an eternity ago. The dude’s rhymes never became more compelling to me than simple contemporary pop drivel. Lil’ Wayne isn’t spitting timeless lines or transcendent concepts. I hope he doesn’t name another record Carter. This record gets the same rating I gave Watch The Throne, but at least I’m still playing songs off WTT.

I gave WTT a 2.5 because the two(2) artists who made that album could have done better, not so much for the Carter4. I will rate this album 2.5/5 because this is the best that Lil’ Wayne can do for rap. I’d rather hear Wayne on a rock album at this point. I mean, when the two best songs on YOUR own album don’t have you on the tracks I’d say that it’s a wrap for Wayne’s rap career.

I hate to admit but I hear Wang ‘rockin’ car systems ** all over ** NYC ; the fall of Dipset, the fall of G-Unit, the fucking absurdity of Jay & Kanye (who do still have some fans, can’t lie) has left us there. And I don’t even hate Wang (I dislike WTT much more) but goddamn.

    Meanwhile, what of HURRICANE STARANG?

I did see 20-something (black) dude in Rutgers Houses yesterday wearing a classic black and yellow Wu Tang t-shirt but that was a rare look.

    DA STORM! DA STORM!

He was great back in ’06-’09 because it was something fresh. No one was spitting rhymes like that off the top of the dome. The problem with that is none of his rhymes ever had substance, it was just him rapping to rap. No story, no meaning.

It got old and he needs to change his style up if he wants to stay relevant.

Sidenote: His shots back at Jay-Z were mediocre at best. Shooting for Beyonce was cheap. He had eight months to drop a track and respond, and that’s all he had? Yeah… he’s done.

I just listened to the Carter 2 the other day and wondered what the fuck happened? He’s always been a punchline rapper, but they use to be witty and not overemphasized.

And the flow?! What happened to the flow

to me he could never top the carter aka gillie’s inspiration i really enjoyed that album. he was getting it in manny fresh on the beats. everything after it’s all hit or miss no mid ground.

@brashef them gillie rumors must have been true and wanye tried to steal his whole style. i remember first they were like nah we not even messing with him. then it was he was just signed to write songs. then it was to help wanye with his flow. to me the jump was to big. his stuff before carter to the carter was a big jump. all of sudden on the carter 2 his shit gets a little better. then on the carter 3 i was expecting the shit to get better given his new track record. only to find 3 or 4 songs worth my time. then he started sounding like drake he has no identity anymore except he loves to rap about shit a lot hahhahaha.

nasty nas escobar jones and dre 3 thou benjamin button jedi master it’s good to hear the quality from those 2 lol. man busta is going be eating forever off guest spots we just have to face that fact. i’m a busta fan and i’m happy to hear him spaz out on tracks.

game just did something similar the best song on his album is kendrick lamar raping the track. i am still wondering why did game do that you let a guest kill you and get the ride out on your own song smh. dp you up on kendrick lamar homie got some good songs. everyone check out the game song the city off his new album kendrick lamar kills that song. oh wait i can link it i will be back

The guy using the same lines over and over and over again. He said he doesn’t write down his lyrics but damn, he probably should. How many times I gotta hear “Life is a….” followed by some punchline about it being a female.

R.I.P Wayne. This shit should put a nail in the coffin.

  12. T-marT says:

lol you know like puttin that whack ass shyne verse after Nasty shuts down the building.. errors like putting kiss verse on the track then you have to hear drizzy spit some weak ass shit after. i mean who put these verses together? wayne is a ho. But shout out to the Carter II its was kinda cool like 6 years ago,,, PS i hope Jay buries dude.

  13. the_dallas says:

At this point Wayne ethered himself by getting his whole style eaten by every feature on the album. Why would Jay-Z even acknowledge a dude with NO classic album in his catalog?
