Even from the alternate universe of the hereafter Dwayne McDuffie is of singular influence and importance to fanboys of any creed or color.
Dwayne discusses the difficulties in bringing Black characters into mainstream comicbooks. The rule of three being that if there are three Black characters then the series is ‘Black’. Let’s face it, Blacks in real life are already threatening to most white, so can you imagine the angst that Black males with superpowers gives?
I caught this clip at Kwame’s website GEEKMODEONLINE.com
that was unsettling yet interesting at the same time.
Dwayne McDuffie was the man who knew too much
good lookin’ out.
i just started watching a bunch of these vids.
I loved how McDuffie was never afraid to voice how he felt, despite how it obviously made those of a lighter tone uncomfortable. However, he made sure to always do it logically & intelligently. Rest in Power, Brother McDuffie.
