The ‘X-Men’ movies have been well written and well cast up to this post. But I was so upset that the producers chose HALLE BERRY to portray one of the team’s strongest and most important characters. HALLE BERRY makes STORM look like a video ho instead of a goddess. Her acting in the role has been weak and indescisive. She has given STORM the persona of a flimsy chick that isn’t built for the rough stuff.
What were these fucktards thinking about instead of casting the ‘Chocolate Truth’? ANGELA BASSETT is everything in reality that HALLE BERRY can’t be even in a fantasy world. Remember when ANGELA BASSETT took that azz whuppin’ from Morpheus? And then he still had enough in her tank to turn out TAYE DIGGS.
The STORM character is a grown ass woman. She becomes the team leader when Cyclops resigns and she is essentially the strongest member until Jean Grey gets turned out by the M’Kraan crystal. STORM is so bad she doesn’t even take shit from crazy 7-thirty Wolverine.
That’s the kind of confidence you get from growing up in Africa. Y’all know how fucked up Africa is for kids. You better be strong willed if you are going to survive over there. Even though STORM was super powerful she wasn’t all dyked out. She had a softness to her. a lipstick lesbian sensibility if you will permit me to say.
Maybe STORM would choose women over men, but I ain’t hating her for that since I do too.
She was little lesbo’d out when Marvel started drawing her sporting leather gear and a full mohawk.

I’m not a heavy Marvel reader but everyone and their momma knows Halle Berry doesn’t even come close to embodying a fraction of Storm’s personality or regality.
maybe buffie the body for Storm…i heard she’s getting movies and she loves to cuss out los hataz. props fresh. It works out great. Storm has little to no lines. Buff can barely talk. It’s all love.

Halle only got the role on her star power. It was meant to bring the negroes out to the theater. Angela acts circles around her but she doesn’t fit the mold. She would kill it as Storm. Hell, I could even see Iman playing this role better than Halle.
^I think it was more for the white folks than the Negroes because most Black folks I know consider Halle’s crackhead portrayal in ‘Jungle Fever’ as her truest acting performance.
Do you remember how cut up Angela was in her Tina Turner movie? Can you imagine that body in and X-man leather suit? She would have made the rest of the cast look teh ghey.

That sentence should have read as: “Storm becomes the team leader when *she forces* Cyclops to resign by challenging him for leadership of the team and beating his Jean Grey -slash- Pheonix whupped ass.” And just to prove how gully she could get she beat my man when she didn’t even have her mutant powers (because she had lost them – long story). This was during her dyke mohawk phase.
And although I feel you on the Berry/Basset debate . . . Basset is simply too old dude. I hate to say it, but she is. I wish it weren’t so. However, at least Halle is aware that Storm is too weak of character. Not to blow it for eveyone, Halle originally turned down reprising the role this go-around unless they stepped up her character. Rumor has it, she is the leader of the X-Men and has more focus on her character. We shall see.
