    i enjoy it

Whoa! Where’d Ruben Blades come from?

It’d be awesome if P! got more political– the references are already there but he just doesn’t emphasize it, so actually Blades turning up like this isn’t surprising. I also understand why P! sometimes wears a “dumb rapper” mask in interviews but it’s obvious he’s way way smarter (and well read) than that.

It goes Frederick Douglass, Nat Turner…

    And what’s next, VICTOR JARA?

DP, do you dig the Clash “Washington Bullets”?

I fuxxin’ love that dude. Effortless freshness; he makes it look easy. Props for the Shiest Bubz reference lol

First time I was exposed to Ruben Blades was back in college in my ethnomusicography class, then later in Spanish class I did an oral presentation on this track with Ruben Blades and Willie Colon called Pedro Navaja
, which is a take on Mack the Knife. Peep the vid, Ruben Blades is that Puerto Rican Salsa OG on that Barrio shit.

  5. There is definately a lot to find out about this issue. I love all of the points you made.
