Kobe Bryant > Michael Jordan…

mj vs kb

Statistics don’t lie, so liars use statistics.

Jordan fans are clutching the crown so hard that they don’t even recognize MJ is no longer in possession of it. At some point even they gonna have to respeckanize that Kobe Bryant will have done it better and longer [ll].

u must be still drunk from Target First Saturday.

  2. Dross says:

If Kobe keep wins a couple more rings he’s right there but if MJ played w Shaq/Pau he’d of been on some Bill Russell Celtics type shit.. there’s a lot of other things that go into this argument other than stats

  3. Jaislayer says:

I still don’t know about this one DP. Kobe is great and all that good shit, but better than Jordan….I don’t think so. You have the numbers in front of you, 6 titles to 5 titles. Kobe most likely will end up with more titles than Jordan…so what. Kobe has 2 scoring titles, Jordan has 10. Kobe has 4 all star MVP’s, Jordan has 3. Jordan has 5 regular season MVP’s, Kobe has 1. Jordan has 6 NBA Finals MVP’s, Kobe has 1. Jordan was defensive player of the year once, Kobe does not have that one.

Kobe dropped 81 on a wack ass Raptors team, Jordan dropped 63 on the Celtics in the play-offs (lost) and 69 on a very good Cavs team. Defensive player of the year & League MVP in the same season. Only three other players have done that, and they are not Kobe. Jordan was the first player to record 200 steal and 100 blocks in a season.

Kobe will never be what Michael Jordan was to the NBA. In the history of sports Jordan is up there with the most dominate athletes ever. Ali, Jim Brown, Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell, Kareem Abdul-Jabaar, Jack Niklaus, Wanye Gretzky, Babe Ruth. Kobe will be up there one day, but it’s not anytime soon.

  4. abstrizzle says:

jordan won 3 in a row, played baseball for one year, came back and won 3 more.
essentially that’s 6 in a row and he never lost in the finals. kobe did.
jordan is the greatest and kobe knows it. kobe isn’t winning no more championships. don’t forget when jordan came back, even though he tarnished his legacy somewhat, he was 40 years old scoring 40 plus points in certain games
on younger cats. fact: he was the oldest and only player to do that.

  5. Jaislayer says:

Shit I forgot about the retirement. If Jordan does not retire I think the Bulls win 5 in a row. There was no one to stop them, because there was no one to stop Jordan.

They had teams making up “Jordan Rules” to try and stop him. It did not work. You already knew coming into the game, that your squad could not stop Jordan. You would hope Jordan got his 50 points and the rest of the Bulls got 25 points. Even then you were lucky to get a win.

You know this DP. You are a Knicks fan, you remember all those games, that Jordan played our squad out…smh

  6. Amadeo says:

Comparing cast is trendy because of the Heat but real talk only one team recently has made it to the Finals with one superstar and no real help. 2001 and the 76ers only won one game.

BTW check the new link D bigger things coming.

  7. SIC says:

???? How do these stats show that Kobe is even remotely close to any thing Jordan has done???

    Jordan wins on all counts..

  9. BIGNAT says:

the fact is jordan won all those rings with role players. kobe has all stars out the ass on his team the lakers are the yankees of basketball. it’s like they should be winning with the team they have. also remember the bulls never had a good center. all of the centers that the bulls had when jordan was playing. can equal bynum now

  10. Selorm Denu says:

You can’t be serious. Kobe is DOPE! but Mike taught Kobe so what does that make Mike…and no the student didnt and wont surpass the teacher!!!!

  11. illest says:

lay off the basketball dallas penn…..you have no idea what you are talking about and are lost. your polo game is the best no question. but bryant learned everything he got from mike. and bryant will never be 6-0 in nba finals and have 5 nba mvp (should of had 7) and 6 finals mvp. bryant gets a head start in points since he didnt go to college and mike missed a year and a half. and mike did it with no centers and bryant had shaq and gasol. pay attention. and look i love bryant pause. he is definitely the best today. but there is no way anyone can be better than mike.

    that damn ski patrol hoodie…..

  12. puerto-black says:

    Kobe ratted

  13. Chris says:

Sorry, but you are a fool when it comes to basketball.

  14. WIGGZ-LO says:

Yes DP, basketball is obviously not your lane unless you want to report on that “hopeful” NY Knicks team of yours. I think Carmello is more estatic that he’s actually playing in the Garden on a nightly basis and closer to his home of Baltimore aka Bodymore, Murderland (MD) and his wifey La-La is back home with her family as well, then he is about winning anything…

Not to mention, I know you didn’t make up those numbers on your own homie, but even those numbers don’t add up to Mike “no longer holding the crown” as you mistakenly misquoted. Refer to Mr. Jaislayer if you really want the truth Jackson. And to think, you just copped and blogged about those beautiful red/wht XIII’s that you came up on…smh…may you wear those with pride on a sunny day and suddenly Mother Nature pisses upon that wretched city of yours and that red suede bleeds and turns those into Pink Panther slippers…lmao!!! Tisk, Tisk….shame on you for this blasphemous blog…you know Chicago had to speak my peace on the matter.

Now maybe I should go blog on SYL about how Pat was tall & skilled enough to reach for the crown in all his years of playing but the arch in those horrendous Ewing sneakers wasn’t quite sturdy enough to get him over hump…and we don’t wanna get into how many times the Knicks have been posterized by tha God MJ throughout his illustrious career…don’t even get me started homie…lol!!!

  15. the_dallas says:

I’m sorry to fux up all y’all heads with this reality check. I still will wear my Air Jordans because I’m not attached to the shoes as a stan of the player or the person.

Jordan was certainly great, but he was not greater than Wilt or Kareem who actually changed the game of basketball. Jordan made the most of the multimedia hype that the NBA established when most of you dudes were still in pampers.

Y’all are like the cats who claim that Muhammad Ali or Joe Louis were greater than Jack Johnson. When Kobe’s career is over he will have more championships, more championship appearances, more playoff wins, more points total and a greater passion for the game than MJ.

Don’t let your love for sneakers distort your real world perspective. Or maybe g’head and let ignorance be bliss. Kobe will be greater than Jordan. Print that.

  16. illest says:

its not about off the court or sneakers….there is nothing bryant does better than jordan. and to say he has a greater passion for the game than MJ is so ignorant on so many levels it makes no sense. remember dallas bryant himself said last year he owes 90 percent of his game to jordan. not his dad who was a nba player but jordan.

and unless you are 90 or 100 no one can claim anything about jack johnson except that he achieved the black mans dream by beating up white men and fuckin white woman and getting away with it.

  17. WIGGZ-LO says:

Aaaaaaand the point is still being missed Senor Penn. Mike accomplished all that he did with virtually a bunch of NOBODIES! There were no PS3 super teams of that era and no one on the 90’s Bulls teams were even remotely close to a Shaq or Gasol as quoted earlier. These guys actually made it easier for the Kobester and still do; so what are you saying Cartwright, Wennigton, and fcukin Will Perdue made it easy for Mike?!?! You can’t be serious my G….

Also, are you implying that Mike didn’t “change the game” of basketball?!? You gotta be sniffin’ that good-good off the lovely lady humps of Chocolate Snowflake cause you certainly buggin’ with that one…lol!! Mike made so many coaches change the way you defend ONE MAN, not even the team, but Jordan himself. Have you never heard of the Bulls once being referred to Michael and the Jordanaires?? Mind you, while Wilt and Kareem did it from a big man perspective, Mike stood all of 6’6″ and single-handedly dismantled teams from the 2-guard perspective night after grueling night…who else was doing that before Mr. Jordan sir?? When you have teams designing whole defensive strategies around one man, a la the “JORDAN RULES”, then that my friend is a testament that the game has been changed. You even said it yourself that “statistics don’t lie” and the proof is STILL in the pudding uptop. I find it very hard to believe that ALL of MJ’s incredible accomplishments with a sub-par team were due to this mystery multimedia hype you speak about. Hell, even Spike Lee, a die-hard Knick fan to the bone gristle, knew that Money was the coming of a new era of the guard and dominent athelete in general so much that he did commercials around the dude….and you were saying whut about your Air Jordan sneakers….lol?!?!?

I take it they must have spotted the Loch Ness doing the backstroke in the Hudson because you are obviously dillusional to think the Lakers will win it this year. Mind you, the whyte woman sodomizer is still 5,180 pts. behind Jordan and came in the league almost 2 years earlier with a far better team, so what are you sayin’ hops?? Greatness is not measured in the number of championship appearances and playoff wins one has. He’s still one behind Mike and will need 2 to surpass the teacher. Unless he average’s 63 PPG next season, he’ll need to average at least 27 or better in the next 2-3 seasons and anything can happen….but it won’t!

Hard pill to swallow my G, but a little Gatorade (who also sponsored MJ in his prime) just might help….*whistles “If I Could Be Like Mike” theme song….

  18. abstrizzle says:

    dp,

so you’re implying didn’t revisit the game either. he took what kareem & wilt did and took it to a whole other level. and let’s not forget what he did for nike. after the
air jordan’s came out, that’s when everything changed in terms of sneaker culture.
the culture was already there before the jordans, but when that shoe came out, it
started a frenzy. kobe is dope, but he’s a clone. i respect the man for his accomplishments, but i don’t respect his swagger jacking mannerisms. kareem,
wilt & jordan all had their lanes that they ran with. remember, jordan changed his
number, then your man did. and what number is that? 24. after what number? 23. c’mon son! i respect your opinion, but i highly disagree. kobe is like jay-z.
jay quoted on the blueprint, if he ain’t the best, he’s the closest one. the same
applies to kobe. my greatest emcee of all time is another subject in itself, but it
ain’t jay playa. and good job with provoking your fans with this topic. lol!

  19. VEe! says:

@Dross said, he’d of been on some Bill Russell Celtics type shit..

Bill Russell, Bill Russell, Bill Russell, Bill Russell, Bill Russell, Bill Russell, Bill Russell, Bill Russell, Bill Russell, Bill Russell, Bill Russell.
Please say Bill Russell 11 times.

  20. ....... says:

Jordan changed the game thats why david stern changed the rules( handchecking removed, 3 sec in the key rule established) so that the “Perimeter players” aka guards could score at an easier pace because basketball was the most popular sport in the world when Jordan was playing. why do you think franchises build around guards like wade, iverson, kobe etc. & not centers like back in the day? because of Jordan jackass! there’s only been 3 legend type centers the past decade Shaq, yao & howard. They media hyped kobe so much like hes the “next Jordan” even though allen iverson was better(4 scoring titles,3 steals titles,1mvp,29ppg playoffs(2nd all time behind mj) 35ppg nba finals, 49pts in a finals game) yet nobody talks about him why? because his “Thug” image was not what the NBA wanted.
