When I spotted these Air Max ’98s in super crisp condition I had to take a picture. These are some of the hardest to find kicks in the game. If there is one place that will have them, that place is Flight Club NY.
Flight Club NY is the museum/temple/clubhouse for sneaker collectors to buy and sell some of the rarest Air around. Hundreds and hundreds of sneakers are there in some of the most unimaginable materials and colorways.
I paid a visit to Flight Club NY this weekend just to chop it up with the folks that grind there. These guys are like the monks that guard the Holy Grail except these holy grails you put on your feet.
I can’t wait to be rich.

Anyway, as soon as we get in there 2 young guys who work there just started cracking jokes on the dude … behind our back … yeah he looks like Brandon Lee … yea he’s got a samurai pony tail … yea he brought 6K to the store that day that FC never saw. I clued my man into the disrespect and we just bounced somewhere else.
At the time we were looking forward to hit up this place alllllll day. 1st time I ever walked into a store and was disrespected by the workers … hypebeast – entitled 17yr olds. pass. Haven’t looked at the shoe game the same since.

FCNY isn’t as snobby as other spots. Friendly at times. Alife and Recon/Nort are prolly the chillest spots in NYC.
I still got some Flight Nikes that were good to me all through ’01 and ’02. They held up and still looked decent for a long time, even though they were basically my daily shoe prior to my catching the sneakerhead bug. If Mr. Knight greenlighted a retro in some colorways that made the design pop, I’d be all over ’em.

Im aware internet makes that shit all possible in terms of knowledge, Im not mr sneaker, but that story written by sangano is very disappointing and Ive never been to a physical location but cmon man. FLIGHT CLUB PRICES ARE RAPE. RAPE. RAPE. The split is 80-20 you should subtract more like 30-40% from the sticker price to get the real value of that shoe. Sneakers will never be done because people need shoes to wear but this game is fucked the fuck up right now.
FCNY prices suck if you buy certain pairs, but if you’re a smart shopper you know to only go there for certain deals: some over-saturated pairs that pop up around retail or less, and rare pairs that would otherwise be impossible to find.
You can’t complain that FCNY isn’t good to buy every pair of shoes from; it isn’t meant to be a one-stop shop.

Holy Shit – I have the OG’s of those very same kicks and also a pair in the purple colourway. But these are Air Max IV are they not? The 98’s were the ones with similar styling to the 97’s.
