Even with a national approval rating dipping towards historical single digits there’s still a ‘What Me Worry’ attitude at the White House. These are the folks that stayed at the craps table on the Titanic. By forcing the big oil companies to take their feet off our throats it looked like the Grand Ol’ Party was going to pull off a November surprise and retain most of their entrenched power throughout the Senate and the Congress, but then some thing funny happened to the party of morals and values. Take a walk with me through the recent newsreel…
Congressman MARK FOLEY’s actions have given me someone to highlight in my declaration’s of non-gayness and he will be responsible for a couple of people losing their jobs, but the real problem that is symptomatic with the power structure on the Beltway will remain. Men like FOLEY are allowed to exist in their world without judgement or repercussions because we are cynically ruled by our government. These politicians have such a disdain for us that it manifests itself in an above the law attitude.
Do you think we are in Iraq by accident? A group of people saws the advantage and the tremendous resource of oil and decided that they should possess it outright. There was never any consideration for the losses of our bothers, sisters, sons and daughters to the cold desert. The United Nations was pushed aside like a skinny woman trying to save the smelly arab kid from getting punched in the mouth by the 800 lb. gorilla bully. Even though the situation in Iraq is now pointing towards a firece civil war between Muslim factions with our troops unfortunately caught out there in no-man’s land, the Republicans have earmarked $20 million for the printing of new ‘Mission Accomplished’ banners.
Although it seems that the war in Iraq and the blatant lack of morals displayed by this administration may help to shift the direction of our country in November, it is still up to us to insure this. Make sure that you are registered to vote and I would also like to ask you to register as a Republican. It’s time to change our government into the people that represent our actual morality and sense of community. You can’t fix a car engine while the hood is down, you have to go on the inside.
What’s amazing is seeing the evangelicals completely sell out and blame it on gays, label it a prank and of course Deomcratic operatives. I might agree about registering Republican, however, the problem is with the base of the party. The southern/evangelical base of the party are culture warriors and won’t reconcile themselves with current modernity. They’ll lose this election because of disgust with the war/general incompetence. Beyond that, their 51% election strategy won’t be viable
the base of the party is only a matter of people deciding that they wanted to reshape electoral politics. people thought like that in the 60’s. Evangelicals think like that in the new millenium. I suggest a return to the pro-action because everything is at stake. we have to think and act as though we have children already even if we don’t right now.

off topic: dp i see cadillac has tiki barber endorsing them in commercials. but i could’ve sworn my drunk uncle going on some rant about cadillac not wanting blacks to drive their cars way back when. are they making up for that?

can you imagine any car company not wanting Blacks to purchase their cars? For a time Cadillac was General Motors most upscale division and I could imagine that during and prior to segregation they kept their brand exclusive with the price tag, but in todays’ day and age Cadillac is scramblling hard like all U.S. auto makers to slow down Toyota, Nissan (Datsun) and Honda.

Verbs are key. I was cruising the intranets and some kids on a video game site were defending Foley!!! They played up how the real issue was Dems trying to find scandal and blow it up. Meanwhile in my business people lose jobs and may not work again when they know you’ve been messing with the young folk…even if they’re over 18.
