Well you don’t say?!? This memo that was issued by RUMSFELD was given to the White House on the eve before Election Day 2006. The handwriting was on the wall of the bathroom stall and RUMSFELD knew that he was going to have to take the hit for the Administration’s debacle in Iraq.
These words from RUMSFELD come too late for all the soldiers killed in Iraq as well as the troops stationed there now without a clear direction other than trying to stay alive another day. Whether you call the situation a civil war or “conflated sectarian aggression and violence”, people are dying in that country as fast as we are selling PS3 consoles.
Can someone please explain to me how SADDAM HUSSEIN was able to keep this country from imploding with only crossbows and slingshots as his defense, while we have all manner of depleted uranium and white phosphorous to spread amongst the people yet there isn’t a single day that a car bomb isn’t blowing people in Baghdad to shreds?!?
I know everybody has joked about it and it would take some miracle worker Manhattan PR supremacist like Donny Douche (or whatever) on CNBC but the only solution in my mind is to put Saddam back in charge.
I keep waiting for all those people who told me to wait for the strategy to play out to say something about this.
Saddam could keep it under control because he used the threat of immediate death and had secret police. Your neighbors would rat you out to keep themselves safe; you couldn’t blow yourself up in a public square because your family would probably be executed. But we aren’t going to do that kind of thing. Which is why we shouldn’t be there in the first place, but shit, I’m just a dumb motherfucker, I didn’t go to Yale, what do I know.
^We are all trying to figure this shiite out. However Saddam would do it is obviously what these people are into and it is not worth American casualties while the people that went to Yale try to come to grips with that reality.
