Just Kill Yourself = New Indie Rock Band

kill yourself

I didn’t think America’s teens were taking me to heart when I told them to go kill themselves, but apparently DP Dot Com has better marketing pull than Aqua Teen Hunger Force. At least in the 15 to 25 year old suicidal set. The Boston police thought those light boards were a threat. I am a threat, and oddly enough I’m a vet too.

The suicide rate escalates when America’s teens refuse to medicate. I can relate. The problem that I have with the so called experts is that they assert that drugs make the situation better, more palpable. I will tell you that drugs only made shit fucked the fuck up for me. Here is another case of the media being harnessed to create more addicts and abusers. The worse drug is television. It packs your neurons with billions of images and veritable sensations before you are even old enough to speak. You better believe that violence on the television is a problem. Wait until you have a child and you have to explain that to them. I would rather let my kid watch a porno than some crazy show where people are mutilated and killed. Anyhoo…

Speaking of television, I still have to watch that ego trip white rapper show. I love how the internets shuts down for the hour that show is being broadcast. It has become the equivalent to rap nerds that ‘Heroes’ is to comic nerds. I will try to catch the show one of these days since the ego trip cats basically run Hip-Hop media like a Draconian bunch of… rap fascists. Well maybe they’re not that bad, but they do have the T.I.s ears something serious.

The White Rapper show is a fucking joke. I wish I woulda politricked more with Serch when he used to act black, and hang out at the LQ. That way I would know him better so I could get close enough to slap the shit out of him. Not one of those ‘Artists’ (well maybe one, Persia) has any skill. Or any chance at success.

That dude John Brown, I wanna kill him. King of the burbs? Ghetto Revival? Hallelujah holla back? He’s an effing caricature of so-called ‘white’ rappers. This show (and John Brown) does more harm to ‘white’ rappers than a room full of Vanilla Ice clones. Serch’s legacy was almost non-existent, now its just tarnished. Talk about going down in flames….

I know those figures refer to a surge in American teen suicides, but it makes me think of something else. I go to a school where lots and lots of kids come direct from places like Korea and Japan etc.; their parents still live there, they just come to school here because they’ve got mad math and engineering skills. The school I attend also has one of the highest suicide rates in the country. To give you an idea of how high it is, it’s not really infrequent or particularly noteworthy to most people when someone decides to jump off a bridge round ‘ere. Often, these kids that come from thousands of miles away to represent for their whole families are the ones that tragically choose to take their own lives. The pressure to succeed is huge for some of them, and instead of facing up to the fact that they’re a failure to their families (“failure” meaning getting a failing grade in an astronomically difficult engineering course or whatev), they off themselves.

Suicide is a big problem, and while I agree that we live in a an addictive culture, and I have utmost respect for your own personal experiences, I know people who have been able to overcome big problems with the aid of carefully administered prescription medication. I don’t doubt that a lot of MDs are too eager to medicate for anyone’s good. Anyway, interesting post.
