A Marvel Comics x DP Dot Com Fundraiser…

powerman

I have this great idea for all of you fanboys that frequent this website and love superheroes. I am assembling a fundraising package that includes two (2) action figures and a DP Dot Com produced compact disk.

The CD is called ‘Black Superheroes’ and it features music from the likes of Wu-Tang, STEVIE WONDER, Game Rebellion, LENNY KRAVITZ and many others. The two (2) action figures are from the Marvel Legends series…

falcon

The Falcon

Sam ‘Snap’ Wilson was also known as The Falcon and he was the first African American superhero not to have the word Black precede his superhero name. The Falcon was down with Captain America for many years and he even put in work as an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The Falcon lives in Harlem but he commutes to work downtown as a member or the Avengers.

power man

Power Man

Before changing into Luke Cage he was just a petty thug named Carl Lucas. While in jail he subjected himself to a life altering experiment. A scientist injected him with a serum that reconfigured his body mass to double it’s size and made his skin nearly impenetrable to blades or bullets.

Luke Cage would return to the Harlem streets that he grew up on, but this time his goal was to rid the ‘hood of the drug kingpins.

For only $20 dollars you will receive each action figure in it’s unopened blister package and the compact disk. Shipping is included in the $20. You have to be thinking to yourself, ‘How the hell is he making any money on this deal?” The answer is that I’m not. I’m losing money, but in the end you may become a comic book fan after you receive your gifts and that’s all I care about.

Here’s how you send me your money.

  • Log on to the website PayPal
  • Click the tab ‘Send Money’
  • Enter my e-mail adddress – bluecheese28@hotmail.com
  • Enter your info
  • In a few days you receive your package.

Secada will sit this one out…challah at me when Booster Gold’s on the selling block.

      That’s rite…Booster Gold

    6. wax says:

man Booster Gold was my favorite series ever – loved Dan Jurgens work on that…

I remeber I was around 10 or 11 when the final issue came out – I was too young to understand all the changes in the comics starting with issue 16 were being done to spark interest and boost sales – so when 25 came out and Dan Jurgens said “its over” in the back letter column, I was depressed the entire sunday, I still remember that.

I picked up the 52 series currently wrapping up from DC just because it had booster in it in the initial stages…

BRING BACK BOOSTER GOLD to his own comic damnit. and put Jurgens on it.. hell start with issue #26- make a grown man happy!

    7. Amadeo says:

I’ma have to get up on this…Dallas always got the super dope.

    8. sangano says:

maannnn Dan Jurgens (no homo on surname) was tight!! the whole story was ahead of it’s time….athelete’s getting banned from sports for inproper conduct, and even a sidekick named SKEEEETS!!! i always thought it was ill how he made his own superhero identity by juxin artifacts that belonged to the museum he worked at…gully. my pops worked at the MET all my life, i remember walking into the egyptian wing wanting to take something home on the low.

Booster was the first rapper in the comic game too…well at least he coulda been he was such a shameless self-promoter with an obsession for fame and wealth. he even quit the Justice League to found The Conglomerate, a superhero team whose funding was derived from corporate sponsors!!! the guy was basically an ass and had great stories to keep it all rolling! i guess he had to be since he shared a city with superman (teh ghey).

    9. Grand Master says:

yo yall know they “killed off” (no DEATH OF SUPERMAN) Booster Gold in 52 only to bring him back… mad good storyline, skeets went all Timothy McVeigh on him.

    10. Grand Master says:

my bad if that spoiled it for anyone…

      lmao!

I just copped seasons 1&2 of Justice League Unlimited (DVD) from my man’s & ’em in the Brooklyn barber shop I get fresh at and I must admit, even though Booster is mad whack in my book, the episode featuring him was classic.

No nada about comics but my man was putting me on to Black Panther. Is there a graphic novel of his or someway I can get a nice bulk of his story?

    17. Lion XL says:

40..check Barnes and Noble. They have a huge section of graphic novels, if there is one you should be able to find it there.

    18. Combat Jack says:

      Cop this Black Panther joint:

It’s written by Reginald Hudlin (House Party, Boomerang and BET fame). It’s current, gives you a brief update of BP’s steez and has an amazing fight sequence between dude and Captain America in which Black Panther whups Captain’s ass like Cutty did Larenz in Dead Presidents. Priceless!

    19. Lion XL says:

CJ..those cRap star action figures are hard body. I was gonna cop a couple until I saw the price. I heard some thing about a Wu-Tang collection in the works.

    20. 40 says:

^^^Lion & CJ thanks for that heads up. I just copped that book you dropped the link on CJ. I’ll let you brothers know what I thought!!!!

(Extra props on it being a hard cover – I like my books to last for posterity)

    21. 40 says:

    24. 40 says:

I wanna thank Combat Jack, Lion XL, and of course Grand Poobah Dallas Penn and give a 21 CHEA! Salute for putting me up on Black Panther. After devouring the intro graphic novel “Who Is The Black Panther” I’m itching like a cheeseburger trading junkie in “Menace II Society” (sans oral favors) to go cop everything up until the recent issue. I haven’t been “Edutained” so much since PE and watching “Spook Who Sat By The Door” for the first time. With hip-hop on life support IMO, and the next season of “The Wire” so far off who would have thought I would have turned to comic books. I never got into them as a kid and other than HBO’s phenomenal “Spawn” anime series of the 90’s I haven’t been interested in a superhero since… I just wanted to be gracious and truly thank the people who have given me a dose of the first new true exciting entertainment I’ve had in a long time. Hip-hop can croak all it wants now. I’m rolling with the Wakandans!!!!!!
