In mainstream media coverage when you snooze, you lose. This is why I am already lining up the winners, the losers, the good guys and the villains that will ascend from the pile of dead bodies down in Blacksburg. One of the readers here left a comment that there was irony in the fact this this tragic event took place in a town called Blacksburg. I missed the point, but I also know of a town in Virginia’s mountains called Lynchburg and things used to get pretty gully up in that piece.
Anyhoo, I suppose we should be sad for the families that have lost someone in this tragedy. I’m almost one hundred percent certain that no Blacks were injured in this remake of Columbine because the setting was a university and not a community college. So let’s have a moment of silence for the white that was lost forever to this angry Asian man’s nine millimeter…

things are going to get snippy when people want to turn bastions of higher educations into lock downs. fact is, you can only make things so secure as to hinder their original purpose. best method you can have is a closed door, card access to every location. unfortch, not going to work with thousands of people milling from building to building.

I was feeling clever when I wrote it and in my head it all made sense, but in the cold light of day it didn’t come out just right. Violence in “blacksburg”, less surprising than if that joint was called “whitesburg” or “hymietown” (with thanks to the old school stylings of Rev. Jackson). Also, a shooting in blacksburg, with the trigger man being asian, struck me as ironic. That said, my sense of humor, when exposed in the written word, usually strikes me as racist.

Re: Germans: Please do not generalize ALL Germans because of this stupid a$$ video. It caused quite an uproar over here. It’s a shame! But – Germans are not all Hitler loving, hating, racists Nazis. Racism, violence and unnecessary killing is a problem in most, if not all countries ALL over this messed up planet.
