Superman’s always been one of those characters who doesn’t work at all when he’s written badly… but when it’s good, it might just be America’s best metaphor for the immigrant experience.

By which I mean, I want some free shit.

(Dunno what’s up with his face in that picture though.)

  2. big rils says:

something about that picture deserves a [||]

  3. Mark Dub says:

And when, by the way, has Superman been able to break through Kryptonite chains? I agree with Elijah; when he’s written badly, Superman is flat-out ridiculous, but when he’s written well, he’s an awe-inspiring character. Though few liked the powered-down Superman of the Byrne years, I loved the character b/c the aproach was so much more human. And yeah…I’d love some free shit too! LOL!

  4. If you’re interested in good writers making good Superman comics, don’t sleep on the recent ‘All-Star Superman’ written by Grant Morrison and drawn by Frank Quitely!

  5. CeezDiem says:

He looks like a sucker in a blue and red suit.

  6. Combat Jack says:

Superman vs Muhammed Ali, one of Neal Adams’ best works evah!

  7. Mark Dub says:

@ brandonsoderberg….I’ve been reading that, and even though some of those issues are a little out there, Morrison and Quitely have produced some EXCELLENT stuff.
