Hip-Hop Is NOT Dead…

j.o.

JOELL ORTIZ ripped a set at S.O.B.’s last Tuesday night. This is the man that is bringing real Hip-Hop back into the mainstream. His lyrics describe not just his aspirations for success, but also his experiences with failure and depression.

JOELL is a real artist who doesn’t try to sugarcoat the truth about the hard work that he puts into his music. Some rappers claim that they never write down their lyrics and that is because they don’t really have anything worthwhile to say.

The road from the Cooper housing projects has been a long one and he still recognizes he has miles to go. That’s why he keeps working. Constantly writing about life. Constantly rhyming about the truth.

You could tell from the sweat on his brow that JOELL is committed to this Hip-Hop shit. His show had energy and he showed love for his fans. I hope this dude has a long career in Hip-Hop. he has the right mind and the right attitude.

    Joell is a swell guy and is a great part of continuing this thing called “hip-hop” I wish him all the success in the world to balance out the proliferation of the Webbies and Boosies of the world and every other rapper who willing calls themselves “boy” when we’re a generation removed when every black man no matter how old was considered a “boy”.

    I’ve been waiting for his Aftermath debut which was a well lauded signing. I hope he doesn’t wind up on the Dr. Ghey, I mean Dr. Dre compost heap of other dope rappers that slipped through his fingers because he won’t diddle him like his prison bitch (Em) or his homo-thug (Curtis). Honestly fuck a Andre Young [||] and I’m glad to see Joell out there getting his with the mixtapes and performances rather than waiting for Afterlaugh records.

    Raekwon take note of this also… Word to Rakim.

    (Note: Fuck Uncle Murder [||])

  4. Joell is the truth. Glad to see he’s off Aftermath.
