It’s really good, but I still say Game Theory was their best album.
I picked this up Tuesday, this album is one of their best. Once again it seems like the mainstream have no idea/ don’t care that a Roots album has dropped. I may be the only person in my area rocking this joint. It’s a shame, because this is quality music. I’ve seen more commericals for Shawty Lo than I have for the Roots. Peace.
I’ve been bumping my copy of Rising Down constantly since Tuesday. It’s a solid experience beginning to end. I realized, though, that The Roots could never top the masterpiece that is Do You Want More?!!??!. Silent Treatment just might be the best Roots joint evar.

The good news is that copies of this physical CD were flying off the shelves last Tuesday here in Philly.
I liked “Game Theory” a little bit more than this album, but “Rising Down” is just furious beginning to end. Vocally, it features the most collaborations whether guest spitters or guest hooks yet it’s incredibly cohesive. Black Thought still holds it down and Malik B is still that shit. That dude named P0rn is someone to watch…
I forgot to mention an interesting hypothesis
Dice Raw = GOAT weed carrier rapper
Dice has delivered great guest verse raps on The Roots’ albums since 1994 when Dice was “the most corrupt mofo in the 10th grade”
I’d like Dart Adams & the other hip hop historians to comment on this, either verify/argue if Dice is the GOAT WC MC.
Spliff Star is the GOAT weedcarrier. As per Rafi, “nobodies done it better”
Memphis Bleek holds sacks so well that Jay-Z put him in his will.
I’m referring to WCs that are actually excellent rappers.
Dice Raw could be sleep deprived for 1 week, & be drunk off of a 24-pack, & still lyrically murk the meh rappers Spliff & Bleek without even trying.
Spliff & Bleek might be the best in the actual specific act of transporting canabis, but not as WC rappers.
