The Association: Desperate For Some Post-Season Magic…

Will a Boston vs. L.A. Finals live up to the hype?

The NBA referee gambling scandal is unfolding into some serious shit. Not that is wasn’t serious already, but the details that are emerging are interesting. The thing about betting on sports is not so much whether a team wins or loses but what the ‘point spread’ is at the end of the game.

The point spread is the number of points separating the winning and losing teams in a game. For instance, the Phoenix Suns lost to the Dallas Mavericks 105-108 back in December despite 18 assists by STEVE NASH of the Suns. The point spread of this game ended up being 3 points. Dallas, the home team, was favored by three. Dallas did not COVER the spread.

Even though they won the basketball game the Mavericks actually lost the bettor’s game. Dallas had been leading by as much as 17 points uring the contest. A late push from Phoenix thanks to free throws helped close the gap.

Referees keep good players on the court or OFF the court and I can’t help but think that TIM DONAGHY was so far gone that he manipulated even more than the over 100 games he has admitted to. This dude was addicted to the rush of gambling so bad he was on the verge of going all JEFF GILLOOLY on KOBE BRYANT’s knees. Right now the NBA needs to pull some magic out of their ass to distract everyone from the fact that their brand of entertainment is severely compromised.

Check the foul discrepancies during these 2008 playoff series out and you’ll wonder if Doc Rivers wasn’t on to something. The C’s got mugged in the paint hella times last night and never got to the line. Too bad they went cold for that stretch. Now it’s back to The Jungle for yet another Game 7.

No hope for tickets tomorrow, either. Prices are astronomical…and I know folks.

C’ nor Lakeshow gonna rock in the ‘chip. Pistons Spurs tilt.

C’s are like leather so soft. Lakeshow ain’t ready yet.

C’s and Hornets in the finals. Lebron is a team, Doc is an awful coach, and the Pistons can’t check Lebron. The Hornets will make it from the west because the Spurs are so soft, they have Game seven at home, Chris Paul is amazing , and Kobe will continue to pull his T-Mac stunt.

Celtics vs. Pistons…no hope for tickets. I’m pulling for the Hornets tomorrow night.

It all starts this Tuesday. Boston get it in!
