WE THE BEST!

manny being manny

You are #1

For all the negative publicity that he has garnered during his career MANNY RAMIREZ is finally getting his due as one of the best hitters ever in the game of baseball.

For years the baseball sportswriters have posited RAMIREZ as a player who is selfish, or totally carefree. They were trying to have it both ways describing a player who could care less for interviews from a media that constantly disrespects Blacktino players.

But when you look at the numbers you can’t deny MANNY his Hall of Fame status. Only a few days in front of his birthday and only two(2) home runs short of 500 I salute ‘MANNY Just Being MANNY’.

That would be a sick show on Univisione. Not as great as ‘Sababo Gigante’, but still good.

THe sportswriter assessment of Manny is simply just way off base. They do not understand him. Simply put, he is admired by his teammates, puts in the work ethic and is a consistent hitter. I don’t really follow baseball that hard, but I know about the hate/love the media has for Manny.

We fuckin’ love Manny in Boston. His teammates love him. The sports fans in Boston love him. The only people that give him shit are asshole sportswriters and those sports radio asshats that no one pays attention to…

Manny Ramirez has helped the Boston Red Sox win two World Series titles (2004 World Series MVP) and they’re pushing for another this year. “Manny Being Manny” means making big plays time and time again while carving his spot as one of the greatest baseball players to ever put a uniform on.

*cues up some Reggaeton like Manny has playing every time he comes up to bat*

    One.

I hate the Sox, but Manny is cool as hell.

People who hate Manny must not like minorities. There have been tons of casper players through the years with similar track records of being productive all the while being labeled as “eccentric,” “one of a kind,” “quirky” and walking to the sound of “their own drummer.”

I’d take Manny and his HOF career + ugly dredlocks + base running blunders + shoddy LF defense over David Eckstein’s “craftiness,” “grittiness”, “will to win” and the ability to “play the right way” while hitting .240.

    You saw this, right?

Most of his offensive stats closely parallel Hammerin’ Hank’s… Ramirez will probably end up with fewer ABs but you are recognizing a great, great hitter.

And this play is an all-time classic: http://youtube.com/watch?v=bj5kTuY0dJI

You’re right about “Sabado Gigante” too.
