Fear Of A Black Hole…

quasar

Black women have always feared their power. The knowledge that their cosmic clap is what began the universe is difficult for many of them to wrap their heads around.

Out come the skin bleach cremes and the hair relaxers to tone down the ‘Black’ hopefully into a lighter shade of brown. You can feel the gravity of self-denial.

Black holes are the ultimate power of the universe. Filled with every element conceived and under immeasurable pressure. Black holes give us the cosmos. Black holes give us life.

DP, you are something like a phenomenon. It’s nice to wake up to truth. Do I fear my power? Yes, I canot lie, sometimes I do. You would too if you had one of these magical blck holes.

sorry, i don’t think calling my vagina a black hole is at all respectful or salutatory. And while it is true that sometimes we fear our own power, it’s also true that we have learned to apply it selectively, as the consequences from people who really do believe we’re only good for sticking things into can be dangerous for not just ourselves but our progeny. All that being said, ultimate power is knowing when to use it. Ever consider that maybe we withdraw, as you ‘eff up the planet and yourselves, so we can then clean up the mess and start things over the right way? It’s a position I believe you’re familiar with.

i love my nappy hair, full lips, dark skin (wish i was darker!) and mother of the universe hips.
if we hadn’t lost our way (matriarch society) on our journey (to a patriarch society), wouldn’t it be so lovely to maybe have had an album title “fear of a black hole” along side “fear of a black planet”
