Dallas, 3 rounds in a gym with gloves (and whatever retard colored sneakers you want to wear). Have Yeah TurdEater in your corner wearing his ghey azz white slotted glasses and a “Jesus Saves” too tight t shirt hugging his nipples. Have Combat Jack as the ref and L’il Wang in the front row getting another tattoo of Baby on his lips.
Jay Z and Puff Mommie will be walking thru the venue selling Vodka and tacky clothes, Rev. Run will be there talking about religion and family values, Salt n Pepa will be there getting face lifts. Moe Dee will be having a one man pizza eating contest and Busta will be off to the side lifting weights and having a steroid rage.

Fact, Dallas is NOT a dickrider. Fact, if Dallas digs Kanye Worst it is due to his poor diet, lack of sleep and lack of memory as to those sublime albums that not only mattered when they were new but are potent 30 years later. Yeah Turd is a fraud, a T Pain type momentary flash, a weak little man with an obsession for fame and is over exposed, the Canibus of our time. He is as fake as silicon titties on that bleached blonde old hag from Babewatch that he used in his wack ass Evil Knevil video.
Dallas please don’t mush me, can’t we all just get along?
    Ernie

  2. Damn, they got you already (again).

  3. DirtyJerz says:

Yo, shout out to my man, Evil Knievil, for runnin’ down on Kanye for jackin’ his schwag!

Ernie, I pray I’m in the building the day you and Kanye meet. Ha!

  4. Eloheem Star says:

“The Canibus of our time” Canibus is one of the dopest MC’s of all times. Can I get a witness?

  5. DP– the scumbags at Universal busted ya’ again.

Ernest– much respect for your idealism and body of work but what about Curtis Mayfield? Marvin Gaye? Even fag-bashing (tho’ not only) Gil-Scott Heron? I don’t think the new Kanye comes close to Marvin or Mayfield but why get so worked up over him doing his thing, even if it’s more aspiring than accomplished? It’s not like that retrograde Good Corporate Negro Shit Shawn Carter pulled or like the tired, formulaic garbage that passes for (say) new GZA product, or new KRS-One or, while we’re at it, how about some real talk at least asking why Rakim hasn’t done a goddamn thing anywhere close to his best in 15 years?

If Kanye has to push himself and his audience to stay fresh, so be it. Better than anything (say) the fucking Clipse, or fucking Saigon, or fucking Papoose, etc.

    Peace!

  6. Combat Jack says:

Dallas Penn, my friend, homie, brother, country man, I will not allow you to peddle such trash, such garbitch, such moose cockage upon the internets impressionable young minds. 808 is so not worthy of you, so beneath you. It must be the work, the blogging deadlines, the recession, Chocolate Snowflake stressing u or something. Please, please please stop peddling this b.s. to the masses. It’s bordering on criminal. The only way you I can see you hyping this jism pack, [||], is if Island/Def Jam secretly hired you, seeing as how you rep the voice of the peoples, to do so, and put mad 0’s in your bank account. I’m talking about 4 or more 0’s. Then, and only then, would this erratic behavior of late be somewhat excusable. And even then, I might have an issue wit u selling out to the great T.I. up in the 8th Aveue Towers.

To all my peeps out there: “STAY AWAY FROM THIS!!! This is a Combat Jack Public Service Announcement. Ur better off mixing a pitcher of ur favorite rum and some lemonade and blasting Diddy’s “Press Play” on repeat for like 8/9 hours.

    You have been warned.

  7. Robbie says:

“Canibus is one of the dopest MC’s of all times”

^ Rapping big words and far-out space shit that doesn’t make no sense does not make for a great MC.

  8. yep looks like they shut u down AGAIN.

  9. Combat Jack says:

YO! This knicca D. Penn really done lost his effin mind!!! I peep my facebook home page and this dude is up there wit the bull horn, claiming to the kids that this Ye’ turder is the next best thang since “Illmatic”! Dallas Penn, I implore you stop this madness homie. Think about the kids and they futures man. Cut this insanity out yo. I am willing to overlook this travesty, if you’re willing to come back, take my hand and step off the ledge. We got a warm blanket, some cookies and hot cocoa for you dude. Come on man, grab my hand, I gots u!

Combat Jack – The Un-Autotuned Voice of Reason

  12. ^ Amanda, Dallas judges the new Tudda to be classic shyt, C Jack & Ernie judge it to be literal shyt. Debate & hillarity ensues.

  13. amanda says:

Well I got that much, but what the intercourse is up with Combat Jack?

  14. amanda says:

and by that I mean I never recall him dropping comments like that before lol. is DP really turning Facebook into the ‘Ye Area?

  15. So let’s see, what “old school” jackoffs are even vaguely credible at this point? A few more can handle themselves live than on record, true (O.C. killed Prospect this summer but his albums have been a mess)…

    * Chuck D and nobody else from the ’80s
    * Wu in best form (which means mostly RZA & Ghost)
    * Nas (why not)
    * Buckshot, whom I love but is definitely a more limited artist than above

KRS still kills live but uh, when 90% of your raps are ABOUT rap for 10+ years…

But Ernest and Jack are SO fucking hardcore they wan’t cut the balls off any possible progression why… because they don’t like the style?

Come the fuck on, especially Ernest, or have you not looked at old flix of Melle Mel recently?

I’m not even defending Dallas’ “808” love but ya’ll are on some serious ig’nant aesthetic trip that would have excluded most pass musical innovations.

Or wait– James Brown didn’t wear tight pants, did he?

And Sun Ra wasn’t REALLY gay, right.

  16. the_dallas says:

    Combat Jack,
I’m surprised at you cousin because this album is far from the turdflake that you are describing it as. This shit is passionate and dare I say courageous.

All my life niggas have tried to put me in a box, from the niggas I grew up with to the niggas that I have worked alongside. Blacks called me a wanna be because I fucks with Duran Duran and Hall & Oates. White called me whatever they called me because I love Public Enemy and Wu Tang Clan.

Stop tripping out on this album. It ain’t that serious, but it is serious enough to listen to and understand that if musoc ain’t emo then it ain’t even worth playing on your speakers. NaS is emo when he sings that ‘One Mic’ and ‘They Shootin’. Jay-Z is emo when he sings that ‘Hard Knock Life’. I say sings even though they sing in rap format.

808s & Heartbreak is a Love Below/New Danger type project. Hip-Hop could use more of those joints not less.

    And to Ernie, eff you.

  17. Smear says:

    passionate? yes indeed
    misguided? perhaps
well-executed? nah, dunno bout that d.
kinda sounds like ‘Ye been sittin in a dark corner jerking off with his own tears [ll] [ll]……
    extra pause

  18. Smear says:

damn, Universal are on your ass (none)

  19. Combat Jack says:

I dunno what to say cuzzo. Ye’ got homies fighting over this recent project like it’s Spring break ’91. I too eff’s with Hall & Oates, Duran Duran, not so much. Yeah, with regard to your comparison to Mos’ “New Danger”, you’re dead on with that. I rarely tout my fan status, but eff it, I’m a Mos Def fan, or at least, was, until he dropped ND. Then I was like, is Dante bored with hip hop, is them Mark Wahlberg checks causing the homie to be bored of Hip Hop, or is he feeling himself so much that he feels he could masterbate on wax and expect all his “fans” to cop and feel it? Maybe a combo of all three. Same shit with 808 except for one big difference, I have never been a Kanye fan. As a matter of fact, the Kanye hate flowed freely through my veins until dude dropped Graduation. That cd was so classico that, as much of a douche dude is, I gave him a pass b/c my hate never runs deep enuff for me not to recognize heat rocks. So going back through dude’s 1st 3 cd’s. I gave it up to the whiney brother from the mid-west. Now, I’m all for watching artists experiment and stretch until they hit that next level heat, and I definitely recognize that, especially as a producer, Ye’ felt it was time to stretch beyond his creative boundaries. I wish more artist’s were creative, talented, courageous and arrogant enuff to test new grounds, which is why I’m still waiting for that Mos Def cd that he owes me/ us. With respect to 808, the experiment that it is is just that, an effin experiment. Now maybe he (and you) are dancing so effin far in the future that I’m not getting it, but at the end of the day, I don’t get it, and I won’t feel bad in not working hard enuff for me to get it. 808 is an mid-step into hopefully whatever direction Ye’s is headed in, and as such, I’ma treat it like the experiment it is and keeps it real with all my internets kids. Until then, I wish dude well and am looking forward to seeing what he drops next. He is a genuine talent that the game needs so much, especially in the day and age of Lil Wayne’s, Souljer Boys and Jim Jones’ (who I’m not ashamed to say, I feel… [||]. For now, I’ma keep Q-Tip’s “Renaissance” in steady rotation until the wheels fall off.

But sincerely though, THANK YOU SO MUCH for that TIMELY package I received from you 2day for my 7 yr old dunny’s bday. It made his and my day, and wifey is all about how u got a free pass to stop by the crib when-ev’s for dinners, snacks and drank. That was truly a classy move. And that’s why I’ma step back and let u groove to 808 with no more stray shots from me.

  20. Re: Hall & Oates, Dallas, do you know their weird, dark album “War Babies,” from ’74?

Interestingly, Darryl Hall had sorta the same problem as ‘Ye in the other direction, he recorded solo stuff in late ’70s & early ’80s very different (in Brit-art prog kinda way) from what he became a star from.

I’m not a huge fan of either style personally but can appreciate both. I’d think a similar reaction to Kanye would be more or less standard among heads old enough to remember.

Or do we need to fire up some old Earth Wind & Fire, Spinners, Commodores, Blue Magic, B.T. Express videos to remind some of ya’ll? Alright then.

Watch this 808 shit grow on you. At least some tracks. I found this album at a time in my life when I was angry at love too.

i don’t cry to my mama like KanYe does but I cry to my broad, or whine, or talk belligerently. I feel like she hasn’t been listening to me. I want to cut her off but that would be effing calamitous since it took me 35yrs to find her. But that is how shit goes sometimes.

Nonetheless, this album is good money for me. I love music and I love my Hip-Hop to represent everything under the sun. Don’t worry fam, after cHanukah we go back to Kanghey.

Happy New Year to Akuma. And blessings to the Mrs. and rest of the Combat Jack clan. All 15 of your kids.

  22. Smear says:

    >>>>Watch this 808 shit grow on you. At least some tracks
    indeed.
Mate, i have to admit. Your visuals made me appreciate that street lights jawn a whole lot more…..

  23. Smear says:

alright, i’ve “stumbled” across a copy of ye’tudda’s new album and on your recommendation…. actually tried to give it an unbiased (if that’s possible) listen… and I gotta admit, the shit is creepin on me D. I’m sure i’d be more impressed if this wasn’t the cat who (along with mr. justin blaze) has produced a large portion of my favourite music (see:hip hop) over the last 7/8 years…. but it’s an interesting melancholy lil piece of work… and i like me some melancholy.
Its a much more cohesive album than the advance snippets i’d heard had me thinkin it would be…..
jury’s still out, waitin on a 2nd listen on serious speakers. That Amazing joint is fuckin drastic

  24. Ernest Paniccioli says:

To set the record straight (II) Dallas I respect you, love you (II) and am usually touched by the scope of your writings (enough niceness) and I would amaze you by the vastness of my musical taste including Gil Scott Heron, Nina Simone, Coltrane, Bjork, Lord Jamar, X Clan, John Trudell, Richie Havens, Wu Tang, ELO, Pink Floyd, Curtis Mayfield, Sizzla, Capleton, Mystic, Art Of Noise, Canibus, Nas, Mos Def, Krs1, PE, William S. Burroughs, Bob Marley, DMX, Burning Spear, Miles, Dennis Brown, Hendrix, Dylan,Tribe, DeLa Soul, George Harrison and Van Morrison and Last Poets to name 1% of my musical collection.
That being said, even some pop is good, even Devo had it’s humor, even some so so music is okay, but these industry sactioned, TI blessed POP Divas (Beyonce, Kanye, Bow Wow, Game) with their predictable, glossy, MTV ready, over produced crapola albums do NOT rise to the occasion of art, good music or even anything above a Big Mac that may have some flavor 2 minutes off the hot grill then it tastes as flat as 2 day old beer.
Dallas, if Kanye moves you and presses your buttons, reminds you of “ART”, “GREAT MUSIC” or even the magic of listening to “What’s Going ON” by Marvin Gaye and you are swept away in the rapture then that is cool. When you decide to spread the “Gospel of Kanye” to others that is not cool, if you are being greased by the TI’s (as implied by Combat Jack) and caking big time, then it is cool. But what do I know about cool? What do I know about music, art, Hip Hop or even life?
Lastly on a sad note scientists have discovered that fumes emanating from tennis shoes, sneakers, the rubber in their material gives off a toxic gas that over time increases and leads to all kinds of respiratory problems as well as mental and emotional and spatial complications, confounding problem solving and other real time problems. So those of you with rubber/plastic, er Sneaker collections would be well advised to air our your apartments on a reguar basis or you too will be putting posters of other short, ugly gheymen with slotted plastic glasses with the word MOMMA etched on the side of their over paid skulls. Peace and hair grease, Ernie

Good shit. First time I heard that song, I knew it was one of those joints. Really amazing video D!! Had that song jammin on the way to work , felt like I was in a dream. The album is dope, I don’t need anyone to tell me, I know. I just lost my Pops a couple months ago and problems with a spouse is something I am familiar with/going through. So 808s and Heartbreak could not be more timely, important to me. Thanks.
