One of the first events to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Hip-Hop’s most storied record label went down at Flight Club NY. This is the premier sneaker store in New York City. The party was populated by mostly people who were born to early Def Jam songs like LL Cool J’s ‘I Need Love’. For those of us who were already teenagers when this record label was launched the event had a different meaning. Rap music isn’t a fad and for those of us that remember its birth its like watching someone grow up.
Also, rap music is definitely old enough to drink legally.
Shouts to FLuxuryB, FunkyMinds, YouHeardThatNew, OKayPlayer, BET.com, Cornerstone Marketing and of course, Def Jam.
The following clip is what could be the greatest or the worst reality television show of all time. 40 Diesel and Persia is like that show with Flavor Flav and Briggitte Nielesen.

I’m just a little too young to put KRS on my top five and a little too old to put Eminem on their either.

DPdot com=STR8 BANANAS!
coqui,
I go from fun loving drunk to belligerent alcoholic before I have a chance to stop myself. I ended up in two(2) other parties that night. The next one had an open vodka bar and the third joint had a bunch of cats buying me drinks(no fishsticks).
I told you I took the rest of the weekend off from alcohol.
There was a lot of chemistry between you 3. It was like a drunken hip-hop version of Seinfeld.
@DP – I think I’ve figured out how I’m rollin’ from herein. I’m just staying home on the weekends because its way more fun to rest and recoup then, and have hours of all types of fuckery mid week. Lets coordinate and go in (neux homeux) this week…
LOL @ the “Strange Love” comparisons… Thats my peoples right there. Cool down ass broad with a grimy side and a hustler’s spirit that would put most dudes to shame.
I still can’t believe I got all of that in before midnight. Party smart not hard people! Proficiency is efficiency!!!
Dam. The Drunkest. DP, you need to party with me and Royal one time. Nothin but 40’s of steele reserve and big bear. Maybe a case of keystone light.
I believe I was almost in high school when ‘Radio’ came out. The 80s babies have no idea, fam.
I was watching Ralph McDaniels play LL’s 1st interview from ’85 last week. Dude was really mature and handled the questions well. They asked him what he thought about Rap being a fad. He said Is r&B a fad? it had a beginning too, said ask him if it’s a fad when he’s chilling in a mansion, and he will even love hip hop when he’s 30 lol.
Also mentioned how he was part of the 1st rappers that grew up listening to the og groups like Cold Crush, Treacherous3 & FunkyFour+1.
DALLAS you are a stupid racist
