Here’s part 2 of the StreetLevel.com podcast with Raekwon the Chef.

Stick around ’til the end and you will hear me ask Rae the craziest interview question of all time.

Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2 drops 09.08.09. Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!

  1. Good last question, hah! Rae’s obviously a bright guy and real artist, tho’ he doesn’t often come off that way– which I blame on the dopey level of the media he most often deals with. And for all these clowns who overuse the “real talk” trope, it’s clearly the LAST thing most people ever hear, whether it’s the finances of hip-hop, the artistic process or who fell off and why.

Sidenote: I’d like somebody, someday to comment on what the hell happened with Rakim, whose name which comes to mind because ya’ll just saw him and NOTHING R. has done without Eric B. on the album cover is comes close to those with the (do nothing?) dude there. I don’t believe for a second Dre torpedoed a Rakim Aftermath album because there’s no evidence Rakim has it like that anymore, which is fine: four albums of increasingly complex genius is a lot more than most others will ever achieve but I do wonder what REALLY happened. (Likewise Kool G. Rap, and why he turned himself into an embarrassing cartoon gangster after the real menace of “Live And Let Die.”)

Anyway, back to crack and dust: not to glorify but for those who can handle it, all sortsa things have their uses, be it on microphone, behind a spray can, etc. RZA especially is an example of the potential beyond-genius in self-medication.

DP In Tha’ Tennis Club was hilarious: I was waiting to hear an Ilie Nastase reference or something. ACE!

Premo and Scratch tomorrow in Red Hook?
