DP.COM MANNY WATCH…

jeter

The Yankees are one of America’s richest sports franchises because they can constantly market the nostalgia of baseball to their fans and followers. DEREK JETER’s pursuit of the all-time Yankees hit record has bolstered ticket sales into the billion dollar boondoggle in the Bronx. Last year they Yankees were selling off the old furniture. This year they are selling you a ticket to watch his story. I’m not buying it. Neither should you.

Not to be outdone, the Mets are selling commemorative bricks to their new monumental tombstone. Ironically, these guys hit the wall sometime in May.

What DJ has accomplished is dope and you are whiling if you think any franchise wouldn’t market that feat in exactly the same way… remember Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire?

2009 has been a brick for the Metros, pack it up, try again next spring.

if you lived in LA and manny was at 755 homeruns, you wouldnt buy a ticket to be there to witness history?

even though he used steroids and it doesnt really matter anyway.

the Yankees stay winning even when they’re losing.
Considering all the steroid controversy surrounding several of the past and current players (Pettite, Rocket, A-Rod, Giambi) and their former coach writing a book about his tenure. The Yanks just find a way to stay in the papers and in your consciousness even when you’re not checking for them.

Their PR department must be deep.

Don’t forget A-Rod has an incentive in that contract that makes him mills off ticket sales when “hopefully” he breaks the home run record, which they will want to be done in Yankee Stadium.

DJ has always been good $, so I would pay. But again I’m biased because it’s my fave team.

And once again The Metropolitans franchise is in shambles.
