Man, I’ve been done stopped fucking with Adidas. Back in the day I stepped into my local Sports Shoe store crunching and zipping crispy in my Nike running suit with the Air Max to match. The winds of change hit me on the stroll in, and I knew I was gonna have to switch up on ‘em or else look like I was the one following trends, not setting them. I browsed for a minute, finally settling on an Adidas running suit, so I went to go pick me some Superstar Mids to coordinate. I told the little pimply faced runt in the store logo shirt to bring me back size 10 in the black and whites. He took forever and a half, and finally returned with my shit. He tried to lace them himself so I open-handed his right cheek and told him if he touched my shit again, he best turn the other cheek. I slide on the shoe, laced them up in my trademark manner, then felt them out.

I told son that something didn’t feel right and that I wasn’t about to buy a pair of blistermakers, and to bring me another pair, size 10. He brought them out and instinctively began lacing them, then stopped and flinched, noticing I’d already begun rearing back to spank his face. I stopped, he apologized, and I laced up the 2nd pair and tried them on.

While he extends arms and focuses on catching the flying shoe, I popped him with a jab to the nose that tilted his head back nicely setting him up for an uppercut which sent him flying. I grabbed my Nikes and beelined for the door. I ran over 2 miles before I realized I was still in my socks. I found a nice secluded bench and even though I knew better, I took a moment to put on my Nikes and laced them up.
The street was empty just a moment before, but in the instant that I stood up with my Nike shoes and Adidas running suit on, it seemed like a nation of millions rose up against me. Muthafuckin Police. They swarmed in on me, tackling me, handcuffing me, telling me my “rights,” then throwing me in the back of a Blue and White where some perp named “DP” had previously graffitied the fuck out the back seat.
My charge: Cross-branding.
My penalty: Paying full MSRP on two pairs of Adidas Superstar Mids that were too fucking big.
