Back 2 Da’ Grill Again…

Internets, I know I am getting old when I don’t take some random subway skank to the shortstay to gorilla dagger her drawls and when I wake up in the morning with an electric company buzz in my lower back.

The OnSmash Invasion rap showcase was official tissue. Styles P, Sheek, ‘Kiss. Skyzoo. Scram Jones. Emilio Rojas. Stalley. With cameos from Cons Tudda and Pharoah Monch. The stage belonged to your boy Sean Price tho’. He tore that shit down reederkulous. Peace to JaiSlayer and his big bro JaySkillz for repping for me. Hail Meg to RLtron and ‘Saur. The internets was in E.F.F.E.C.T.

This collective right here is bigger than the industry. They are the internets. You can look directly at this group to see how the music business was re-shaped over the last five years. The kinks are still being worked out but all of these scumbags (and baggettes) are game changers. But seriously, the New Music Cartel is THAT important.

Hosting the event was wild in itself. Between shooting video throughout the show, drinking wild amounts of ‘The Sponsor‘ (c)40 Diesel, smoking everyone’s piff and even attempting a costume change I can say that I had the time of my life. I can’t believe that I smoked weed with the L.O.X. I’m no groupie or nothing, albeit a slight stan for Raekwon and DOOM, the L.O.X. is still some Hall Of Fame Hip-Hop shit you have to respect. Sean Price ain’t no joke either. As a matter of fact, the only two(2) rap shows I have hosted have both featured Sean P. To that I can only say Hail Meg!

The other common denominator is Terrence Elenteny on the lens. Terrence came through in the cobra clutch 11th hour when I realized there would be no way for me to give this event justice with my handy-cam. I can’t wait to see what homey rolls out for this one. In the mean time I’m gonna watch some footage from the rap showcase that the Internets Celebrities hosted, before it was all trendy for Hip-Hop blogs to be organizing shows.

Who is that masked man?

Been meaning to catch a Sean P. show for a minute. Moving back to Cali next month, so hopefully he’ll be out there.

  3. Seen Sean P tear down a handful of stages, BootCampxDBlock sheeeeeeit, I know I missed a classic

  4. HAIL MEG!

I don’t wanna send ya’ll to another site but this Q&A with P. was pretty good, goes in on the absurdity of the Knicks too. Great inside knowledge on “Heartburn” too–

I was a little puzzled by the Whole Foods reference; I’d guess Vegetarian P. would be rocking the Flatbush Food Co-op, which– unlike the Park Slope one– ** is ** open to the public but maybe recording in the city and all…

    P!

  5. Polotron says:

Anti-Grammy and Dallas as Doom FTW! Hail Meg!

I think if I had more fun that night, I’d be in a coma. Rodizzyous. Lion XL, you were missed, brother.

You know a cat is building a catalog when he rips it DOWN and after the show, you’re like, “hey wait, he didn’t do…or….”. P!

    Fairway >> Whole Foods.

  6. the_dallas says:

I’m grinding to get my Fairway dough up. WholeFoods has become the catchall for organic and healthy foods, but real healthy Hip-Hop cops they crops from the farmers market.

Polo, happy new year foolish mortal. What was dude’s name again telling me to go find the Dutch?

  7. BIGNAT says:

in the last pic the girl is scared of doom.

  8. Polotron says:

D, that was Swivel (Destruct). There are never enough Dutches. But it was reasoned that a man that can mask up and throw on a cape, can do anything….

DP, The Highline was on fire, that show was sick. Much respect to all the artist that performed. Styles P/Green Lantern(cop that album), Skyzoo(just got that Salvation off the iTunes),Scram Jones(ill freestyle, did not know he spit. I’m late sometimes)Emilio Rojas, the Lox (got crazy hits) bringing out Pharoah Monch, the show was bananas; but Sean Price destroyed the stage. That dude brought so much energy, I was waiting for somebody to get body slammed or punched in the face. That shit was Brooklyn, it was hip hop. Had a great time, can’t wait to do it again.

Oh yeah major shout out to that Jersey Shore dude getting on stage and trying to keep it hiphop, lol. I thought the Lox crew was about to man handle homie on stage. My man was fortunate this wasn’t the Tunnel on Sunday nights back in 94′. His night would have ended mad early, if you know what I mean. Peace.
