When the IC fit club is ready and you have your mtn bike in the city, I have a donut joint you will appreciate… I’ve not rocked the Donut Pub but for years I’ve claimed this spot– not quite the DiFara’s of donuts but close, and way cheaper. Riding out there let’s you rock those glazed (II) as a just reward too.
A couple regulars here might know the joint: mostly a Chinese/Russian hood now, tho’ I think the current owners are from… Guatemala?! Some older BK donut head taught them well. They even have a signed Joe Franklin photo on the wall!
I don’t know why I was being elusive– maybe I didn’t want to get too worked up yet. But I’m gonna ride now so… A few years ago some fucking chain donut dump opened up nearby and I got worried but the people know what’s good. There’s an old-scool diner counter too which hosts a mix of true old and new (immigrant) BK.
I vouch 100% for the glazed, 90% for the plain and while I enjoy others, tastes are so varied it’s hard to predict who’ll like what.
DP– good spring bike ride is out to Floyd Bennett Field by whatever route, hit the bike path back to Sheepshead Bay (any DP fam ever go to the Windjammer Inn back in the day? Roll N Roaster?!) and then…
wish there was a donut pub in miami. roun heah, it’s mostly dunkin and the KKD. I can’t eff with the KKD anymore since they made the donuts smaller and the price larger. how is a half dozen glaze going to be $7 and a dozen glazed $9?
DP!

I must shout out ‘Randy’s Donuts’ in L.A., on La Cienga & Manchester.
Yeah, that place with the BIG ASS donut on the roof. The (homemade) ice cream next door isn’t that bad, either.
