What’s Wrong With Wright?

wright

David Wright is officially a bum right now. His batting average and power rankings are totally in the shitter. What happened to a dude who was supposed to be one of the National League’s All-Stars on the level of Albert Pujols and Ryan Howard?

Late last season Wright took one to the dome in a home game versus the Giants. Ever since then Wright hasn’t been the same batter. This was confirmed on ESPN’s Baseball Tonight. Wright’s average hasn’t dropped to the Mendoza Line, but he is well under .250 and that is no place for a franchise player.

I have a feeling that David Wright is a nice guy but he is destined to finish last in the all-time Metropolitans ballot. No one ever really gets back in the swing of things after being concussed. I went to the stadium Sunday night and watched Wright fail to plate runners ISP in two separate innings.

That’s when I knew that the Mets needed to start looking to replace their third baseman.

Still thinks its too early in the season to say he’s done. You could attribute the low BA to how bad the lineup looked pre-Ike Davis/Reyes, when he wasn’t getting any pitches to hit. He was leading the league in walks then right? I’d look to see how long he stays in the slump with reyes and davis in the lineup, then i’d make some conclusions. I wonder if this has to do with him trying to re-establish his power stroke [II]. It wouldn’t be a horrible thing if wright became a .300/15hr/35steals player for the rest of his life, much better than batting .250.

ESPN was telestrating Wright’s swing and dude started the season with this high leg kick but now he isn’t taking his front foot off the ground. Wright isn’t fundamentally fuxed the fux up, just mentally. Dude is toast

Y’all are wildin. It’s early in the season and David tends to be a streaky hitter. He’ll get hot again. What’s important is that we’re winning games. When the team takes a dip, lets see how he adapts. I think he’s kind of our weapon in the stash, it’s pop off when we need it to. And he’s been playing great defense at 3rd this season.

  7. DPDotCom always makes baseball sound so interesting…then I turn on the Dodgers & it’s nap time.

No shots is right. I’m glad he heard my complaint and stepped up his game.
