Acknowledge Greatness…

acknowledge greatness

J-Love and Meyhem Lauren’s album ‘Acknowledge Greatness’ is like the prequel to the ‘Lo-End Theory. There are features from Timeless Truth, Roc Marciano and Thirstin’ Howl the 3rd. J-Love maestros classic rap beats while Meyhem rips the microphone like a young beast.

‘Acknowledge Greatness’ is a double album of classic material. This album is tragically slept on. Here’s a few tracks that go harder than leather in any kind of weather. The ‘Lo-End Theory is still bubblin’ underground. We gonna get it together before its all said and done.

In the meantime and in between time fux with this real rap shit…

This was a dope album. I really like the Subway Series track. Production is great and the features are like everybody any homegrown NYC rapper would wanna work with. My only gripe with the album is that I’m not a fan of J-Love on the mic. I think he’s a great DJ and an even better producer but I would have preferred to have Mey rocking a lot of these joints solo. It’s not so much J’s wordplay, but moreso his delivery that doesn’t reach up to his counterpart’s level. Dope album regardless tho. Definitely worth supporting.

    Lex,
I feel you somewhat [ll] that J-Love is a bit staccato as an emcee on this tape but its also worth noting that this album is three yrs old. In that amount of time J-Love has worked on his style and definitely improved.

I was listening to some recent tracks of his while riding around Brooklyn in his whip and what I heard was a collection of bangers. I asked him to give me that tape so I could post those songs, but he is still fuxing with those tracks so maybe you’ll hear them during the summer.

I also agree with you that the features on the album were incredible. This album is a must copp for NYC rap fans. It represents the sound of the city well.
