I Won’t Rock Vado’s ‘Polo’…

uspa

I can’t co-sign Vado’s track ‘Polo’ because it is about trendjumping and not lifestyle representing. It’s not that the song is bad either, but it don’t rep Polo for real Polo. PRL is so trendy right now I’m disgusted by the sight of it. I’ve got to snap this funk so I can get the momentum back up for the ‘Lo End Theory. Someone has to teach the youth the history which is really deeper than rap.

a song called polo with only 5 references to lo. and not one of em was clever or referenced anything crazy. a polo undershirt from marshalls is nothing to brag about.

    EXACTLY.

And he wasn’t exactly sure what that t-shirt would like like either.

    Thanks Vado, but no thanks.

I recently learned something interesting: U.S. Polo Assn. is actually the clothing brand of the governing body of the sport. Back in the early aughts, Ralph Lauren had it out in court with them over the Association’s right to market the clothing with TWO men on horseback. Apparently, they won. Which, I suppose, then opened things up for crap brands such as Beverly Hills Polo Club and Ricky Rothchild to sprout up, with weeds, presumably. Oh yeah, thanks Vado. Rhymes are tight, ‘Polo’ joint, not so much.

“USPA is the clothing line of the governing body of the sport”

That’s a laugh. Ralph Lauren made Polo more famous than the game did.

  5. the_dallas says:

And who made Polo Ralph Lauren most famous?

    HIP-HOP.

’nuff said, everyone enjoy your Father’s Day.

im feelin vado #pause but i cant get down with this track. so many herbs rocking “rugbys” now.

i heard the only way to get into the LO end theory was to wear pre-2001 ‘lo. if its not true, it should be.

  8. Lolz….. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Lo this popluar and trendy everywhere……but I remember back in 96′ when was saying the same shit about how trendy and popular everyone rocking Lo was….. my daily uniform, UFO pants or fatigues, multiflavor Tims and a Polo top.

Things move in cycles, this is just the latest cat. remember Young Dro was saying he was the reason folks rock Lo, like 6 years ago……Kanye West said the same shit in 2002. In 2020 there will be some new cat who discovers Polo and will act like they discovered something new and influenced other people’s fashion culture…
