This way you can bust the skullcaps of your local circle with an I.T. they didn’t even know existed.

One of the pieces that has attained mythical status in the lifestyle culture is the 5-7 patch longbill 92 Racing cap. The debate rages on how many patches this cap actually holds. The truth is that it may very well be a custom joint from the rip. The most enlightened lifestylers have been customizing their pieces with patches from their discarded schmedium I.T.s.
This is why I love rocking Polo Ralph Lauren pieces. The culture of collectors I fux with have devised our own narrative of the lifestyle all the while understanding that Ralph Lauren’s gentility is just as made up as our own. Actually, our narrative is better because we don’t ever think we might pass for Anglo-Saxon Europeans and we are cool with that. For me, it’s all about the colorway and my own #swag.
dope drop. it’s a 7 patch. Ask Mey, he used to rock it while he was pistol packin. yellow 1992 patch with a mini 92 P-Racing patch above it on the other panel. That is a custom, (possibly even a replica) it was only made on a black longbill. There is RUMORS it came out in white. Never seen it though. The 5 patch was the LAUREN Racing Team joint (Women’s) with diff patches, which is red, might’ve been a blue one too…not sure. You seen the steez on the custeez tho, makin dreams come true! RL is an aspirational brand in so many ways.
I’m a fashion failure but I can appreciate the DP interpretation of RL’s achievement. And of course you can never be the genteel European but it’s interesting how very far off that would have seemed to Lifshitz of the Bronx–
or Bakshi of Brownsville, almost exactly one year older than RL.
