No Judgements, Simply Rest In Peace…

amy winehouse

I’m not going to try and codify or explain why Amy Winehouse was so mercurial and still so important to music.

Especially since Jay Smooth found the perfect mindstate to celebrate the artists who have inspired us thru their music.

Thank you JaySmooth for these thoughts. Thank you Gil Scott-Heron. Thank you Amy Winehouse.

RIP Amy Whinehouse, a serious set of pipes on her.
shame the other shit got the better of her.

  4. That’s a great accompanying video. Sums it up well. Losing Winehouse cut me deep, but her music has always made it to my ears daily so in that sense she’ll never leave and her voice will remain eternal to me.

Any of ya’ll listen to Janis Joplin much? Probably the closest to AW in terms of white girl soul self-destruction, tho’ Janis was more blues/gospel, as well as American… And while her problems were well known, there wasn’t the same level of intensity in her fall.
