The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia…

ronny mexico

Can you imagine if RANDY MOSS wasn’t a total shitbag nutjob (no ROSIE O’DONNELL)? He would be playing in A town alongside your boy Ron Mexico. VICK’s sore hamstring from training camp seems to be on the mend and as VICK goes so go the Falcons. I expected MICHAEL VICK to attempt less rushes this season because the NFL linebackers have no love for the hard to catch player, but when he gets the chance its lights out in the Georgia Dome.

Last Sunday’s matchup against the Steelers was everything that the NFL wants in a football game. There were lots of points. The total combined score was 79 points so you know this wasn’t a RAY-vens / Browns contest. There were highlight reel plays on all sides of the ball. Pittsburgh’s young QB BEN ROETHLISBERGER even had his clock cleaned. All’s well that ends well and the NFL’s young, dynamic Black phenom was able to leave the field victorious. Now how’s that for progress?

Here’s my problem… The NFL constantly resuscitates the careers of coaches and player personnel directors instead of finding new blood to run these operations. The plantation system is still in effect, go get a late pass. I hear rumors that MARTY SCHOTTENHEIMER’s son is being considered a strong candidate for one of the vacancies that will be available this January. That’s that bullshit! What gives him any real coaching pedigree?!? His dad ain’t never won the big game when he had some of the leagues’ illest players. Who remembers CHRISTIAN OKOYE, DERRICK THOMAS or even JOE MONTANA and MARCUS ALLEN?!?

If being the son to a loser coach gets you on the fasttrack to an NFL sideline job there will be no shortage of bodies to fill the patronage pit. I think RAY HANDLEY’s son just skipped me in line.

The NFL is just like life….it has nothing to do with hard work, perserverance, mastering your craft etc….IT”S ALL WHO YOU KNOW OR WHO YOUR FAMILY IS.

i think the success of coaches like lovie smith, mangini, and that guy in minnesota may start a trend of giving jobs to experienced coaches. (or maybe it wont).

oh and i’m glad to have you back DP.

^co-sign. i’m waiting for them to usher “long-neck” and the colts into the SB. i know Tagliabue is still upset he never did even though he tried with that bizarre penalty in the afc champ game.

or maybe not getting to the SB will be the manning family curse just like dying tragically seems to be the curse of the kennedy men.

When the Chiefs had Okoye and Word in the backfield together they were the shit.

Thats some Techno Super Bowl shit right there.

I’m pretty sure derrick thomas is still in the NFL.

Nepotism reigns unchecked in many aspects of business.

    Whoops!!

To my credit though, there are numerous other Thomas’s who have since stepped up in an attempt to fill his shoes..
