18 DAYS UNTIL ‘KINGDOM COME’

Me, personally, I’ll be painting my door bucks with lambs blood, just in case SHAWN CARTER, ORENTHAL JAMES SIMPSON and BARACK OBAAMA are actually the Cerberus standing before the gates of Hell.

18 days? How do you figure?

It comes out nov. 21 right?

i think the dallas is figuring in the “streets can’t wait” factor – Jay’s usually good for being pushed up a week due to bootlegging. either that or i just won a no-prize

^you know the streets can’t wait, and neither can Jigger

This ninja is 0 for 3 with the tracks I’ve heard…

In my humble opinion but President Carter needs to stick to being a playboy right now wearing linen and hob-nobbing with his celebrity friends. “Show ‘Em What You Got” – I tip my hat to Just Blaze on this track, albeit I’m familiar with the samples you created a real classy track that should have been supported by some more majestic lyrical material by Sir Shawn Carter. I mean really Jay… This same tutti-frutti “Change Clothes” sh*t on the subject side? You’ve achieved a level of success to the point that most rappers and athletes can’t comprehend, but honestly I think he’s gotten past the point where we can’t even relate. Because of that I think he knows he can’t talk about his exploits with Bono on his G5 while his 200 year old vintage Krug sits in a cellar on Central Park West, he’s reduced to the bare bones basic and banal “flash and pizazz” rap…

Look most NY’ers have gone lukewarm on G-Unit, Puffy is rap’s Sammy Davis Jr., Everyone hates Nas for some stupid reason or other, Busta tried, Meth went unnoticed, and the Dips have yet to really emerge as a national powerhouse of the southern acts. Plus the Papooses, Saigon’s, etc are still (over) paying their dues as a new class of NYC emerges from the rubble. Which left the eminent return of the Jiggerman, the top dog, the President, and all of his accolades that he has earned and bestowed upon himself. The last bastion of NYC. Well since his reign he’s put on a kid from ATL, someone from Miami, a backpacker from Chicago, and a chick from the Bahamas. No NYC threats (besides his old nemesis who is getting somewhat buried himself) so he still had his region all for himself whenever ready. Well the time is now as he readies his 4th quarter release and you know what PERSONALLY I THINK IT SUCKS. What ever national respect was had for NYC, what ever little is left I’d like to thank Jay for further pissing on it with this half-assed material.

I’ve never understood this, he’s always talked about he sacrificed his art for money. “Dumb downed for dollars”, yet he has always made it plain that he’s wanted to create his magnum opus. He spent his last studio album begging and pleading why he should be considered the all-time great. Well guess what Sean, you got money, you got the corner penthouse office, you can control what ever the label puts out, you have the trophy broad, and had an audience with the f*ckin’ UN! All of that and still, STILL you’re scared to put pen to pad, take some time and just get ILL with it…

Now I didn’t expect Jay to reinvent the wheel with this album but I’d appreciate if he’d stop talking sh*t about being “the savior of hip-hop” and how “this is going to be my best work yet” and all that over the top sh*t the critics wanna here. Do me a favor rent out a whole floor in Marcy, hang out there for about 2 months. Don’t even let people know you’re there. Just sneak in under the cover of night and have Bleek earn his keep as errand boy. Because if this is what I have to look forward to this won’t even make it to 2007 on my iPod….

Never really got caught up in the Jay-Z Hype. Reasonable doubt was a classic. After that I might like a verse here a flow there but mostly I dig
the production on some of his albums.

The new songs are aiight. I’m probably not disappointed because I don’t have high expectations for dude.

I’m one of the only dudes who wasn’t big on Tupac so what do I know.
