Profiles on single mothers have always touched me, and they do more than ever now that I am in that situation. I will never understand how someone can call himself a man (or even human) while walking away from his own child and doing little to nothing for him/her. “I will not lose” is perfectly associable with the plight of single mothers. People ask me all the time how I do what I do, and the truth is that when you are put in that sort of situation, you know you can’t fuck up.
Jen…true words. I am raising kids with a husband and intact family unit and it’s still demanding and hard. I can’t even imagine how hard it is for a mother (or father) doing it on their own. Props to all of the single parents out there. And that picture is beautiful.
