Is Denver even going to make the playoffs?

    Discuss that…

  2. Most likely, Boston would sweep them. Maybe they squeak one by the C’s if Iverson gets in the Delorean and drops one of those gems like when he was carrying Philly.

Also, Carmelo is STILL a bitch. Maybe I’m the only one who remembers him punch and running on the Knicks. And running from Nate “Listed at 5’9″ But Really More Like 5’7” Robinson. RUNNING FROM NATE ROBINSON.

  3. the_dallas says:

First off, Nate is 5-8 and hardbody as fuck.

Celtics whole squad is chicks with sticks you think KG want it with Iverson? Do you remember when A.I. stripped his B.M. butter ass nekkid and kicked her out the crib?

The police found her ass that night like a deer in the headlights barefoot in the woods behind the house. If a man will do that to his wife what you think he gon’ do to “Sugar” Ray?

  4. evan says:

It would be disgusting and worse than the Pistons/Cavs crapfest from last season. Denver is the worst team to watch among the best teams (record wise) in the L. They play five games of 1 on 1 with nights of 10 assists for a single player coming as often as a eunuch.

Pure misery, in fact I’d be pleased with just about anyone from the East’s Top 4 against anyone in the West’s Top 10 besides Denver. Melo will never ascend higher than Alex English or Bernard King aside from being lucky enough to have a Jordan shoe deal.

  5. Decker says:

Nah – Boston aint got it this year – i needs that killer instinct in the east and right now Detroit has it. Think about it, them 11basketball players have more economy between them that the entire fuckin city…. they prolly all live across the river in canada. speaking of river….cry me one Kwame, when you get elected your dick becomes public property and the fuckin media owns that shit and has gps on that shit.

Bobcats vs. Lakers! ….bobcats in 6, beating Kobe in the city he spurned 10yrs ago….

  6. @Evan: coming as often as a eunuch. Well said. Also, I’m glad I’m not the only one who is not completely impressed with Melo.

@Dallas: I do remember that. Also, he rolled into her cousin’s house and snuffed him too, didn’t he? Or was it his cousin? Either way, no one doubts the gullitude (gulliness+magnitude) of The Answer.

I’m just saying if you throw a punch, you shouldn’t run. Face up to that ish. Especially when you got caught on video frontin like a fake ass Avon Barksdale, talking about putting hits out on snitches.

Also, KG plays with the intensity of Ice-T knuckling down Wesley Snipes in New Jack City. So I think he can match AI. Pierce is still a little shook after getting stabbed up. Ray Allen is Ray Allen.

Denver can’t get past the Spurs and probably not past the Suns…or the Mavs. They do this every year. They have a few games where people start to think they’re for real, only to find out it’s not true. It’s like before Canibus came out and you heard his freestyles and cameos. Then, the album dropped and it was meh.

    Lakers v Celtics

  8. Maxine says:

Oh shit, oh shit!!! I go out of town for a few days and come back cats are talking reckless about Denver!!!!
I kind of agree though in some respects. ^^^ Did you not see us beat the shit out of the Suns?

You know Stan Kroneke’s ass isn’t having D-town not in the playoffs.

  9. Dart_Adams says:

First off, let the Bostonian weigh in on this:

Detroit? I’ve the Celtics straight up BODY the Pistons twice already this year…it would’ve been three if Tony Allen didn’t have to learn the lesson of his career that night…don’t foul a jump shooter. Watch the tapes, the Celtics had them beat and frustrated (just like in the other two games they won) that night.

The Denver Nuggets haven’t been able to stay on the same court with the C’s this season. Between the stifling team defense or the individual matchup problems that Kevin Garnett, Rajon Rondo, Kendrick “Incredible Hulk” Perkins, James Posey, Tony Allen, Glen “Big Baby” Davis”, and Leon “The Show” Powe cause…now add to that the perimeter shooting of Ray “Jesus” Allen, Paul “The Truth Pierce”, Eddie House and Sam “I Am (Legend)” Cassell and it’s curtains.

I don’t think Denver can even make it out of two rounds in the West and whoever faces the East’ll be so beat up they’d get run over in the NBA Finals.

Green is the new Black and the Celtics are the new NBA Champions.

    One.

  10. evan says:

@Black : Agreed on their relative intensities. As well, I believe that in my lifetime I won’t see any other player as tough as AI. He’s my size (not counting the waist line lol) and routinely gets his ass handed to him while 2+ feet in the air, crashing back down thousands of times. He gets right back up as if nothing happened and gives the other players shit for letting him pop back. I think he would have gone down [||] as one of the all-time greatest had he averaged better than 6+ assists per game for the career.

@ Maxine : Suns 2007/08 are not the same team as they were even a year ago and have no interior presence on defense besides Shaq for 25 minutes/game. Amare is a widely known defensive liability in guarding the other bigs and is always looking for the sprint back down court. The Nuggs will get bounced by whomever unless it’s Denver/Houston and the Rockets are out of gas by that point.

I’ve been saying for almost 2 seasons that we were on the verge of the quality of the 80s with the big payoff games. This playoff should be amazing, most specifically since TNT!!! has the West Playoffs and West Finals. Nothing turrible about that.

  11. the_dallas says:

    Nerditry,
Is you crazy. Fat Lever and Alex English were a pair of tight pants and a bump of C away from toppling the tight pants scoring champs in Dallas. Roy Tarpley was the difference because he brought the freebase spoon.

These Nuggets have a chip on their shoulder which could lead to a ‘chip in the real sense.

Tune in tomorrow when we discuss more Nuggetry.

  12. It’s not happening. As much as I’d love to see hometown hero Marcus Camby get a ring, it’s not f’ing likely.

    I guarantee it.

  13. Maxine says:

22 straight wins in, it doesnt look like Houston is slowing down anytime soon.
@Evan, Amare is their best bet, Shaq ain’t worth the weight. Last year they [Suns] were one suspension away from the NBA championship, I think it was Steven what’s-his-name- that said that.
The chip the Nuggets are currently carrying comes by way of J.R. Smith, a nicely diverted train wreck, dude keeps being on fire like he is, there’s not telling what will happen.

  14. evan says:

@Dallas : I know what those fools were up to and English was one of the most prolific scorers in history that no one my age has heard of. Throw my main man David Thompson, Lafayette Lever, Mitch Richmond and Andrew Toney in there, too. I’m saying that Carmelo, for all his hype, may not eclipse their feats in the L. And that’s a damn shame because none of those guys before him got the press coverage.

@Maxine : You’re right. In fact, you were right, but this haint 2007 anymore. Trading Shawn Marion has crippled them as a defensive team. Boris Diaw’s imported chevre presents a stronger front than he does against small forwards. Marion made up for every defensive liability on the Suns which have now become glaringly obvious.

Nash is a matador, Amare never bodies up, Shaq can’t move laterally or for extended periods of time (or jump…this comes from a life long Heatian) and forget about their bench players. Don’t think I’m sleeping on Raja [||], but he can’t do everyone’s job.

All the Suns can do now is pray that they outscore people and we saw last year where that went for the Warriors. I know they beat the Spurs so I ask you to check the Spurs record for March and how the rest of the team outside of their Big 3 has aged so rapidly.

Truth, they fucked up on Scola and are paying dearly for it.

  15. Enigmatik says:

Y’all actin’ like the Nuggets are even going to make it to the playoffs…and IF they do, y’all ackin’ like they finna make it out the first round…

    Pssh.

  16. big rils says:

Nuggets will have a tough time making the playoffs – right now Dallas, Phoenix and SA are all lower than a 4 seed.

Besides, their team is too damn streaky to win a 7 game series, and they don’t play a whole lot of D either (outside of Camby, who is a beast and a machine rolled into one).

As my fellow Bostonian put it above, the C’s have owned the Pistons this year, as well as every other quality team they have played (outside of the suns). We swept San Antonio last night without Ray, we split against Denver, beat the Lakers, and are gonna snap that streak tonight in Houston. At the beginning of the year, I thought it would take this group at least one year to mesh, but they’ve been firing on all cylinders from the jump, and with Cassell now able to take over (offensively) for stretches, the Green has to be the favorite out East.

ps have you seen what rajon rondo’s been up to? dude looks more like an alien than any other player in the league outside his backup.

  17. a-one says:

I’m w/ Dart. Denver will be lucky tomake it past the first round.

  18. Maxine says:

Eh, if we don’t make it past the first round it’s Celtics all the way, fuck San Antonio AND Kobe (say something).
If we do make it to the playoffs AND past the first round, I want drinks and bedtime stories from all a you cats!!!

  19. evan says:

@Max : While I have no faith in that happening, I’ll put something up against that bet. Email me and we’ll figure out the terms.

And btw, I don’t give a fuck what folks say about Kobe. On the court, he’s next to Lebron for tuning in just in case…and off the court, 99% percent of hos would melt in their drawers if Kobe walked up, called them a bitch and went Tyrese asking if you want the daddy dick (n. Irving Rhames buttcheeks) [||].

  20. @Maxine and Evan: I want in on this. Nuggets got nothing.

    @Evan: Kobe is must-see TV.

  21. the_dallas says:

    Here’s the line…

Max + DP = Nuggets get to West Conference semis.

    Nerditry + E.Black = the H8ters

On the strength of Nerditry who I have hung with [ll], but E.Black may be currently in college. Most students are ass bettors. Don’t disappear in May.

  22. I am currently in college, but am a non-traditional student i.e. over 30. I’m down, as long as the stakes aren’t a Faberge egg or some shit like that.

We should hang out. I need to go one your sneaker quests.

  23. the_dallas says:

The stakes are shots of the cheapest vodka available. Preferably Georgi in the plastic pint bottle.

  24. a-one says:

Denver catches an L to the Pistons

  25. Enigmatik says:

Tsk tsk…and the nuggets slip further and further from playoff contention

  26. Maxine says:

    Damnit

  27. I’m still down for it. The Nuggets are still have a chance at the 8th spot.

Hope you like rubbing alcoho—-I mean cheap vodka.

  28. Dart_Adams says:

  29. Incilin says:

At the rate their going, Denver won’t even make the playoffs.
