POLITRICKS 2008: Smoke ‘Em If You Got ‘Em…

newports

Now why the fuck is niggers shootin’ outside like someone promised them a free pack of menthols.

They better not be those Kool 100’s either.

There’s definitely a cause for celebration, but not only because lightskinned Blacks have finally emerged from the ruins of the Al B. Sure deity sitting on our mental mantles, keep in mind that OBAAMA also has a Black wife which never happens when you see successful men of color. Black women were always hot and classy, AND now they can be trophy wives too. This is a victory for all the ladies that have made the Kool-Aid, fried chicken, ribs and the arugula.

It could have almost not happened though.

The situation was dicey from the early numbers…

As you can see, OBAAMA and McCAIN were neck and neck with the popular votes although OBAAMA was given the lead in the electoral college.

I enjoyed a delicious spinach roll from Raimo Pizza on Merrick Ave.

Still no big surprises on the board. This red state to blue state comparison annoys me since the popular vote is too close to call.

I downloaded, er, received my review copy of the latest Q-Tip album, ‘The Renaissance’.

Incredible! OBAAMA has McCAIN doubled up in the electoral college but across America they are almost tied.

Shit! My download doesn’t work. Does anyone know who manages Q-Tip?

The glass slipper apparently fits…

And UnKut comes thru with the beats as always.

It wasn’t a fancy slogan that motivated everyone to come out today. It was hard work from the ground up. From all the people who tirelessly grind on the grass roots level of organizing with information. Everyone that came out today restored the promise and the potential of America. Now is the time to get back to work.

I believe again…

Congratulations on a truly amazing moment in historty.
Now its really time for ya boy (none) to get to work….
Business as usual (c) EPMD (or Men at Work for that matter)
I’m sure you’re appropriately shitfaced but I’ll sink a couple for you anyways. Who am i kidding, I don’t need an excuse…CHEERS!

  2. smear says:

    believe…..nice pick son

  3. Candice says:

John McCain slammed the community organizer during the debate and it was the grassroots, community organizers that did his azz in.

    Obama won by a landslide.

Guess the fundamentals of the economy weren’t strong, huh John?

  4. New post @ somethinglikearapper

i havent been more proud of my country then I am right in this moment

  5. Vee says:

Believe? D, let me know if this post is entertaining, insightful or just plain wrong.

I’ll run with “Now is the time to get back to work”, it’s kind of hard to celebrate knowing the country still has to deal with the legacy of the former Governor of Texas, and current President.

Obama did finally edge McCain out with the popular votes, but i’m wondering where does the absentee ballots stand. I think it is weird that the Electoral College system debate is not a national media issue considering 2000 in Florida felt like yesterday.

I’m happy that Sarah Palin will now fade into the political background that is Alaska. 2012?? Not by a long shot, I’m sure the GOP will produce a more interesting national figure. Too bad George P. Bush is thinking about running for office just yet.

The new q-tip album is the shit…yeah, shit was looking scary at first.

  7. Recall the moronic Lamestream Media talking point that Latinos wouldn’t vote for Obama out of anti-black racism?

Recall Dallas was co-signing this nonsense talking point?

This point struck me as nonsense, since countries in Latin America have often elected non-whites & women: blacks (Venezuela – Chavez), Native American (Bolivia – Morales), women (Chile – Bachelet), east Asian (Peru – Fujimori, even the hated-on-in-the US-Muslim arabs (Argentina – Menem & El Salvador – Saca).

When Obama says “the US is the only country where a black guy with the name Obama could be elected President”, I have to laugh. A dude like Obama could’ve done it in many of these Latin American countries in the 1970s or earlier. The USA is world-class in democracy in some attributes, but in this attribute, the USA has fockin sucked. Even the Irish Catholic JF Kennedy was considered too non-white by many US voters in the 1960s, & barely won that election, WTF?!

Check the CNN article. Your boy EGC was 100% correct on this one.

Latino vote Scoreboard: Obama 67 v McCain 31. That’s right, Obama is more than straight doubling [||] McCain among Latinos.

I’ll wait until Neveruary 31, 4080 for the Lamestram Media to apologize, & denounce & reject themselves, for this nonsense “Latinos won’t vote for blacks” talking point.

    Go Obama!

  9. Marvelous Mo says:

    @EGC
You’re usually on point with the #s game. I’d bet on you if I had to.

    @DP
You should have been on Times Square. I was drunk off of adrenaline. We watched the election @ Fashion 40 where the waitress tried to pull a fast one on my bill. Hoe sit down.

Obama won, I cried. Some grown men cried too. Humbling experience.

Obama’s speech…missed half of it because Jay Wright was having a loud conversation about something totally irrevalant. Obama’s speech = MLK Speech. STFU and listen!

Grabbed my coat and coasted to Times Square where EVERYBODY young & old white spanish black indian arab the whole 9 honked for Obama and sang the nat’l anthem. Chants of “O-BA-MA!” and “GOOD-BYE-BUSH!” infected all people out on the streets.

What did I do? try to search for McCain supports to ask, “You mad?” None were in sight.

I’m glad i’m an adult witnessing the history in the making. Now that the easy part is over, lets see how Barry handles the nation come 2009. I’m interested in seeing how g8 responds to a kneegrow wearing a crown.

  10. ^ LOL @ asking McShame supporters “u mad?”

The rightwingnuts are gonna loc out even more than usual, ala the Sean Hannibitches, Michael Weiner Savages, Bile O’Reallys, Rush Limpballs, mAnn Coulters, etc.

The illest thing would be if the Moderate Repubs ala Colin Powell & Libertarians like Ron Paul take over the party & change it from the ReThuglican party back to the Republican party. That would be good for that party, & the country in general.

We will see. ReThug Civil War is popping off already. PalInsane weed carriers are already talking 2012, but u know that Corporate Welfare Whores led by Gov Bittch Romney are gonna fight the PalInsaners hard. *gets popcorn to watch & laugh at ReThugs ethering each other silly*

  11. http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/

Glenn Greenwald breaks down how Obama means the Supreme Court can relieve 3 sane non-rightwingnut justice cats that want to retire ASAP.

Among other things, Obama’s win prevents an epidemic death of women by coat hangers, since Roe v Wade will still be legal.

Shout out to the 88-yo homie John Paul Stevens. Dunny selflessy stood his post for years to avoid WOAT Bush from naming another rightwingnut like Scalia to Steven’s office. Hopefully Stevens gets at least 5 more yrs of life to enjoy his retirement.
