The Last American Virgin…

virgin stores

The immaculate consumption is coming to an end.

Don’t you folks feel a little nervous about the news that there won’t be any more virgin stores here in the U.S.?

The main reason the terrorists hate us is because we have virgin stores where we buy our virgins. People living in Arabia and other places usually have to undergo a horrific death in order to get to see some virgins.

We’ll be losing more than just a retail outlet when the virgins stores are shuttered later this year. We’ll be losing a place for virgins, as well as nerds, geeks, dweebs and freaks to commune in their all black gothic gear or their multi-colored skinny jeans.

Where will all the virgins with pierced lower lips and tattoo sleeves get together to listen to Kings Of Leon? BTW, copp that!

So much of our identity as Americans is wrapped up around our consumption of the things that entertain us. I’m lucky enough to live in an area where I can go to a huge library or museum or even an off-Broadway performance to satisfy my need to commune with others, but for those of you living in regions that are lacking the cultural communal options that I have you may just be forced to following the arabic method of getting yourself next to some virgins.

In America, the big box store is our temple of consume, our mosque to marketing, our church of cha-ching.

The mall is our cathedral to commerce.

Fuck you sons of BERNARD MADOFF for snitching on the golden calf.

We’ve got one here in Orlando and it’s not even closing for a good reason.

My understanding is that the owners of the retail stores feel like they can get a higher rent outta another tenant. NYC location is profitable and so is Orlando.

If you’ve got one in the area, checkout the clearance and toy section.

This is actually where I copped the Tubbs action figure you’re holding.

It’s getting crazy. It seems like alot of the big box stores are closing down. Circuit City just shut their doors for good, K Mart & Sears are in trouble and now Virgin is closing down. I also rembemer reading that Home Depot was closing a few stores. What is going to happen to all of that retail space? Since the economy is bad and no one wants to spend money. My guess is that they will use these spaces for those large azz Halloween stores, you see pop up ever September.

As a kid in the early 80’s, my pops told me that I should go to school for the computers, “because the Commodore 64 is the future and will take over the world, boy!”(Ha!). Lil did I know that he was right and you can now window shop and purchase anything on the internets – at home on the couch, in your boxers, at 3 a.m., Sunday morning. Whether legally or GrimeWire, music and video is something you can get without even waiting for delivery – straight up Double CD’s and HD BlueRay movies without getting some nigga nonsense attitude at the cash register. And record companies don’t give you ANY incentive to go out and buy the music…no purple tape, or some hidden satanic sh*t that you can hear when you play the CD in reverse. No golden ticket. nothing. Virgin, Blockbuster, BestBuy, etc. will soon die like Times Square pr0n. The internets is a cheaper, more efficient way to consume entertainment & brick and mortar has done nothing about it, except 1’ed themselves by selling you more computers, w/1 month of free internet.

this is not necessarily a bad thing. these companies closing are all big. Its a good time to be small.

I can’t tell you the last time I saw a music store here in Dallas. The internet and Itunes, & Limewire in particular has killed the brick and mortal retail business.

All the virgin stores here in the uk sold out to another store, then the other store went bust like a month later, like that Branson knows what hes doing.
