Digital social networks are still somewhat of a mystery to the world at large. Some folks in my old neighborhood have been signing up to a Ning site which connects all the folks that grew up in Corona Queens next to Shea Stadium. I have been a little leery to join in the fun since these are cats that NEVER used computers before. They weren’t even MySpace users. So that lets you know how far behind these folks are.
The current darling of digital social networking is Twitter. It’s so popular that FaceBook redesigned their pages to imitate the Twitter profiles. Twitter is what the internets were created for. Experts speak freely with people that are passionate about those same subjects. There are a few skirmishes but the discourse is generally positive, or at least it is congenial. The mainstream media’s response to twitter has been to provoke fear in the free exchange of ideas.
Twitter gets you fired in 140 characters or less
No one gets fired for the shit they do on a computer*.

I don’t feel sorry for anybody that gets fired after Twittering shit about their job…mother had them…mother…’eff..them…I am so pissed that everyone is Twittering and accepting no accountability for their actions.
I got fired through Twitter just a few days ago! Now I can get free health care. Thanks, Twitter!

Anytime you put yourself out here on the internets you better be able to stand up for the shit you say or at least keep your thoughts under wraps especially if your making that tall israeli money or in a position to do so.
you already know twitter has replaced myspace as my place of getting illicit DMs(direct messages for those outside) which has been leading to risque pics somehow making their way to my inbox…………been tellin my twilliterate homies to step they game up cuz it’s now possible to get draws in 140 characters or less………….there are also some very good wholesome chicas on there as well, but I think some of the nastiest ones(the ones who’s accounts are locked or private) have moved on from giving up the ass on myspace to putting out on twitter.
DP, a friend and I was just speaking on how far some folk are behind or totally out of the loop when it comes to using a computer. The older generation can get a pass, but our age on down should know the basics. Either that or get left the eff behind…
I slept on twitter for a year and now I’m hooked! SMH @ it being possible to get the draws in 140 characters or less. That’s a damn shame
