Swagger just became the 2009 version of ‘bling’.
As soon as Madison Avenue convinces a corporation to NAME their product after an urban slang term it is officially over for the term.
Please replace ‘swagger’ with ‘splashy’ wherever apropos.
Maybe it’s time for “jiggy” to come back. Will Smith hopes so.
@goatgair: K-OS declared the jiggy era dead in 2002…thank god
i splash, i surf.
I certainly hope that Almond Joi AKA LeShaun has intellectually property rights to the phrase/line “Doing it and doing it and doing it well: from her 12” “Wild Thing” that LL Cool J used. She better be getting checks over that.
One.
YO! Wifey just introduced me to that dude above last week!
corporate america yet again steals again from the culture … disgust
old spice’s agency should be shot for this
i work for an ad agency (non-madison ave corporate thank god) … i would NEVER come out with some crap like this – makes you wonder if there was any research done at all to get to any real insight to apply in the creative versus
ignorant creative director: “don’t young urban kids use that word ‘swagger’ nowadays? let’s use that!”
ugh … horrible
cosign100. on the flip, don’t forget when LL slid FUBU through the Gap:

LOL!! Dude got wild dentures, B!
Every rapperdude existing aspires to be Will Smith. To transcend the BS and nigatry that comes with the rap game is no easy feat. This is the one dude that truly raps just for fun and the love of hip hop. He’ll find another term the same way he found jiggy, listening to some current rap song, maybe this time it’ll be from a Slaughterhouse joint.
Dallas, Yet another reason you have to copyright the Internets®!
I doubt shes gettin paid for that since he wouldnt even let her in the video. Most people think thats an ll cool j song
