This weekend DP.com is brushing the wig of Combat Jack. CJ went in with a drop that I should have posted a long time ago. Our good friend JAMES BLAGDEN aka Blagavelli created an animated short for Chris Isenberg’s No Mas sportsblog. The short used the actual audio of former Pittsburgh pitcher ‘Doc’ Ellis recounting his 1970 no-hitter against the San Diego Padres.
The story is hilarious in itself since Doc claims to have been tripping on LSD for the entire game. He also describes a major leagues that was wild for the night (and day game doubleheaders [ll] conversely). No wonder the facial hair back then was so crazy.

As a dude who’s taken acid before, I have no idea how anyone could throw a strike let alone a perfect game while trippin balls.
I have to disagree since I used to trip my face off and ride a fixed gear bike thru Manhattan. Depending on whether you were having a bad trip or not you could pull this feat off. I think the fact he was high is what gave him his singular focus instead of spazzing out in the 8th or 9th innings.
wow that is crazy i never took any of that. one of my friends in high school had a acid tick. once i heard the story of what he remembers i was like i am never touching that stuff. he said he hit it and it seemed the same then he said the room started looking like it was melting. that is the last thing he he remembered when you talk to him sometimes. he stops in the middle of a sentence and his close and heads nods a little then he continues what he is saying like nothing happened. it happens real quick but you notice it
I had an older broad (early 40s) when I was in my early 20s and she begged me to get off that shit because it erodes your spinal column fluid. She told me that I’d end up with a tick or some other degenerative nervous system shit. My mom has Multiple Sclerosis now, but she never told me stories about dropping acid, just weed.
