Who’s Da’ Man?!?

showbee

As the tip-off[ll] for Game 2 of the Association’s ‘chip finals gets underway the question looms larger than ever before…

Is Kobe Bryant better than Michael Jordan?

You don’t have to answer that question just yet, but you will someday soon and the answer could be yes.

    GTFOH with that blasphemy

I will not ever answer yes

Q: I read that your grandchild once asked you if you were as good a basketball player as Michael Jordan, but I never read your answer.

A: I told him, that’s the wrong question. The question is, was Michael Jordan as good as me.

” I played a team sport. So to my way of thinking, the only important thing is how does my play impact my team’s winning or losing. I won MVP five times, I never once led my team in scoring. I led in rebounding, and I was always second in assists. So, my impact on my team was offence and defence. But a long time ago, I dismissed individual honours.”

As great as Kobe Bryant is and Michael Jordan was, they’re game will NEVER, NEVER EVER, EVER touch Oscar Robertson.

Any time I see talk comparing players from different eras I always think of the social-political climate of the times and the rules of the NBA. Everybody knows that the current rules of the game was modified to favor a fast-paced offensive game. There’s a reason why D-Wade was not getting all the calls he expected in the international stage.

Derek Harper is shaking his head.

and here is why I say no….Jordan has 6 rings and 6 finals MVPs…in each finals hunt , HE was the primary scorer AND the clutch play maker at the end..he did the heavy lifting, the grunt work, and the crunch time work.

Kobe is a GREAT player….maybe the best post-Jordan player….he and Tim Duncan. But this talk about, oh if he gets 5 rings…than you can compare him to Jordan, if sports radio talk show garbage. Shaq did the heavy lifting for the first three rings…HE was the offensive first option( for the first three quarters of the games) and the way the refs were calling games back then (rigged)….you couldn’t guard Shaq. Kobe was more of a closer back then. He’s been Jordan-like in performance AND responsiblity for the last 3 playoffs.

Jordan was the starting pitcher, set up guy AND the closer for 3peat one..and 3peat two.

don’t get it twisted….kobe supports, get at me….I’ve got more holes to shoot in your arguments.

MJ played in 6 finals, and won all 6,and was the finals MVP all 6 times.Kobe won 3 titles as the Pippen and 1 as lead dog and lost 2. MJ averaged 28 ppg as a rookie, um Kobe didn’t. Kobe also never shot more than 50% in a year. A great player for his era, but this era is a step down x 10 from the Dream Team era. I also do not like MJ, but it is what it is.

  8. C. Corey says:

MJ changed the game on and off the court…there is only the nba logo that is more iconic than the jumpman. if you talk commerce and the amount of money MJ generated it’s not even close for any other sports athlete. if you talk individual achievement you start with MJ and 3peat twice speaks for itself…the guy was singurlarly motivated by the game of basketball. Mike is God, Kobe is Jesus!

  9. BIGNAT says:

jordan it’s not even a real discussion

  10. $yk says:

    Who’s this guy?

    * turns up ‘It’s A Crime’-Roc Marciano *

  11. VEe! says:

    @C. Corey,
Magic Johnson was the player that helped bring Madison Avenue to the NBA. He was the original pioneer off the court.
The game of basketball, was literally changed because of Bill Russell.

Not that money is a factor that determines a great player but Jordan is not that dude. Tiger Woods damn near earned billion during his career and it is not over.

    3peat twice

  12. 40 says:

    Its like this…

Purely statistical hoops level, If Kobe wins, you’re gonna have to start talking about it. However Kobe will never be the transcendent player that Jordan was. You can apply the same to LeBron. He is on his way be as big as an icon and media darling as Jordan was, but as a player its yet to be determined.

Now you combine Kobe & LeBron you get Jordan.

BTW – Wheres the ADL and B’Nai B’Rith at with the outrage of Jordan’s Adolf mustache in his new Hanes commercial? Post NBA MJ is becoming more and more of a dick.

  13. getthesenets says:

I saw that commercial and I said how did Jordan leave the house looking like that…

f-ing with young white chicks is scrambling his brain*

there’s no way any Black woman would let you leave the house looking like a d-head

what’s funny about hanes is..jordan looks like hitler..and charlie sheen was going around using racial slurs that would make hitler proud

*looks like his new chick was trying to give him a moustache trim in the bathroom and she zeeked him….and he said F it..I’m Michael Jordan…I can leave the house looking like this.

  14. the_dallas says:

I just had to shave off my face afte butchering my moustache. Jordan ain’t that much older than me but he is one of those corny older cats that fux with the best of Wayman Tisdale jazz CDs in his whip. Yeah, Jordan’s whip is a Bentley Continental and Wayman Tisdale is dead.

  15. 40 says:

LOL @ ‘Nets. Thats not even Dairy that got him acting like that. Its tough enough they’re out with a brother, but they’re not gonna let him rock a mustache that looks like the guy who drug her granddad in to Dubya Dubya Two. Thats that new fly Latina honey he got who thinks he looks like Simon Bolivar or something.

Also he wears mom jeans with his his shirts tucked in so tight they’re instant v-necks.

@ Dallas – I to had to scorch my facial earth so that the beard can come back super fresh (“The Return of Black Galifinakis, which will be my aka if I ever wind up working with Sean P.) So I understand. LMAO at your summation of Jordan complete with a Tisdale reference.

  16. getthesenets says:

dudes with beards….the andis outliner 2 ….the grey joints barbers use…that most black guys own….

that joint has a set of guards that you can buy for them…3/8 1/4 1/8 1/16 sized guards….

the guards don’t fit the t shaped or hammer head ones, just the square ones..

Simon Bolivar? that’s a 3 pointer with the foul

yo, my cousin said the same thing about the tucked in shirts….jordan is part of the old guard of athletes…that used to think it was fly to wear gators and funny colored suits to games….
