SNEAKER FIENDS UNITE!

Dr.Jays might prA’li be my favorite sneaker retail location in the city. They have one of the best Nike accounts in town and they never charge you anything over box price no matter how hyped the sneaker might be. This includes all Jordan releases and event the Air Yeezy.

Dr.Jays still operates like a mom and pop store where the employees know your name and more importantly your shoe size. This is why I fux with the flagship store on 34th Street. As soon as I walk in my homeboy Sid tells me what they have in stock in my size.

I’m happy that Dr.Jays re-opened their flagship store on West 34th Street yesterday. It was always my favorite shop because it was a quick walk down Fifth Avenue from the Lord & Taylor men’s store and a block away from Macy*s Polo section. After shopping I just hop on the #2 train to Chocolate Snowflake’s house or catch the LIRR at Penn Station out to my rest.

If the world doesn’t come to an end this weekend I’m putting myself on a training regimen for the summer. And by training regimen I mean wearing mostly cross-trainers this summer. Bo Jackson, Penny Hardaway and Ken Griffey retros are flooding the streets and I am caught up in the nostalgia. Check these styles…

Air Trainer SC II
I wasn’t fuxing with this colorway at first but then I started to come around to the look. These might end up being be my handball high performance kicks for the summer.

Air Max Penny
There is something about these shoes that when you rock them with shorts and black socks it just looks official

Air Trainer Huarache
Please don’t sleep on these limited edition retros. Subtle hits of black and grey are all suede. These are the cross-trainers you wear with a tuxedo.

Air Griffey Max II
Jr.’s signature shoes had so much flavor to have brothers rocking that teal colorway hardbody. The only thing I ever had to match up with these shoes colorwise was a Florida Marlins fitted. I’m still copping tho’.

Peace to Franalations and ShoeWolf who also attended the grand re-opening of Dr.Jays

For those of you who can’t make it to the Big Apple you can always fux with Dr.Jays online

  1. As usual, I’m going with the Bo’s. I like the Penny’s a bit too.

Glad you’re back, black. I’m new to this blog, but really feeling it, missed it when it was down.

the orlando penny 1 is one of my all time favorite sneakers. i was stuntin with those hardbody in 2nd grade. Thats probably the most classic colorway of those huarache’s. And those Griffs….copped them for $30 back in the day at Marshalls, on Queens Bully..the white and teal ones.. wow those were dope. good string of retro’s right there.

AM Penny 1s are tight. Pound for pound, shoe for shoe Penny Hardaway might have the single greatest line of shoes and the most disappointing athletic career.

Bo Jackson’s career was too short, but his comeback to baseball was miraculous.

Griffey’s injuries late in his career make him the number #3

Deion Sander’s didn’t have the best shoes but of all the player’s mentioned he won a couple of ‘chips.
